I have a question for my fellow Logic users out there. I know there is a certain order post production is done in (for example, limiting is done after eq and the first thing to do is remove dc offset). Is there a similar chain for plugins on the logic channel strip? I usually keep my eq above my limiter, but what about other fx such as reverb and delay? Is there an order that they should be in on the Logic channel strip? Should a filter be under an eq, or does it matter?
Thanks! |

I don't think this is a Logic concerned question - as you are asking very funamental questions concenred mixing.
since the reverb and the delay are parallel processors, there is no order for them - it's either you apply them or not. That means they will sit on a bus channel with a 100% wet ratio.
it all depends what you want to do.
I prefer having an EQ as the first processor on a channel. I might suddenly want to put another EQ just at the end, if I want to amhpasize a certain area that was lost during the process.
This 'order' you talking about, comes from understanding - why do you put a limiter after the eq? answer: because you want to even out peaks which the EQ might create. etc...
