FUZZION - FREE TIBET EP REVIEW

A1: Closer
When I heard starting kick, I knew this is going to be very minimalistic track. Start of the bass reminded me on project Rekorder. Strong bass, played on low frequencies, with many changes on frequency cutoff. Atmosphere is very deep.
Small amount of hi hats which fits perfectly in this kind of track. Then, there goes a sudden break with great pads in background, giving you a minute to wait for the main theme. Great notes on synth, with many delays, nicely produced. And the pad that sounds like some vocal fx in background makes the atmosphere even more impressive. Very cool track!

A2: No Adress
Bass is once again very low, but this time with smaller amount of changes on frequencies. What I really liked is color of the bass, nice notes. Few fine produced percussions in background and very good rhythmics. Track is slowly unfolding and it comes to very interesting break, with many effects, reverbs, delays and frequency cutoffs. And such a cool lead! I liked it a lot! Color of main melody is also very nice and has a great drive! It sounds like some bells are playing, like someone is telling you a story - its a bit sad but you still have smile on your face. Great track!

B1: Chordless
Pretty interesting start of the track and its arrangement. There are no hi hits for almost 2 minutes! Very cool for mixing only some melody! Bass is played on very low freqencies and makes the track sound massive. Fat distorted lead sounds perfect, nicely driving trough the track. Small break introduced the main theme, which is played on synth that reminded me on church organ and rock 'n' roll of fifties :) There is a lot of place for mixing other tracks and production is very good. Nice one for DJ sets!

B2: Free tibet
I think that this track needs no introduction to techno freaks. Remastered version of a great track, with even better sound! Well, I surely know now where the hi hats from first and third track are - all in this one :))
Rhythm and lead are great, with very atmospheric pad in background. Pure Tekkno! :) Like some Midi Miliz tracks.. There is a small break, just to catch your breath and then... Grinding continues! Great tune!

Fuzzion introduced us to very deep and atmospheric release, with one remastered pumping techno track "Free Tibet". If you like deep and massive sounds, you should listen to this one. Tracks are also DJ friendly, so it will be very interesting to mix them in sets. Hope you'll enjoy it!

All the best,
kim0

fuzzion is the one of those artist that suprises us all the time. this ep proves that musical context is the essence. this is not a collection of sounds and notes but the realtion of artist to the piece of art he creates.

Magnificent! And I'm so happy that I can say that on more and more topics with releases! Maybe, the circle of artists that made this sound is small but the music is HUGE!!! And I think the best way is to remain like that!           http://www.soundmute-recordings.com/xsite/artists/opsy.html

A1. Closer 7.01
A2. No Address 5.58
B1. Chordless 6.54
B2. Free Tibet 6.29

We are dealing here with a very advanced and extraordinary product of the new techno revolution that includes an essence of every kind of sound. When we say Fuzzion we think about many earlier releases in the respected Boshke Beats, as well as in other leading labels that presented us the sound of this talented Russian producer, Vladimir Kozlov.
This new EP on vinyl from Boshke Beats, brings lots of tricks and melodies on dry and minimal beat, which will be well accepted on many clubs. Every track is full of spontaneous compositions with different pads and melodies that in certain moments transform into effects and create the concept of the track. What personally thrilled me was the fact that unlike in previous releases, here Vladimir gave himself plenty of freedom to experiment. We can also discover many symphonic elements of strong ambient character that are connected to the techno style only by beat. It’s one perfect combination of different styles of music. I would be happy to DJ some of these tracks, on some of the alternative / chill stages on festivals.
Although I’m not a producer, I would venture to say that the production of this release doesn’t need many comments in any aspect. Everything is simply perfect. Crackling, crystal clear and treated with care. The length of the tracks, in my opinion, plays very important role and is strong enough for the mix.
The energy can be seen in every sample and emotional elements aren’t excluded either. And then the inevitable distortion in some parts will bring euphoria to the dance floor with what I call pleasantly irritating sounds. I simply love and fully support that kind of communication by sound. I also really like the vocal pad in Chordless. It’s like a strawberry on the top of whipped cream of some fine but complex dessert. If perfection exists, I’d describe it exactly like this.

Recomendation: Well, I recommend the whole release, but I must choose a favourite, I’ll single out the tracks on the A Side- Closer, with its extremely emotional theme; And No Address, where also emotional moments dominate and make beautiful 6 minutes. Extraordinary record. Deserves lots of dancefloor moments.           ------------------
