Hey ppl, i would like to hear your opinion what interesting stuff we might see in the next years.
I mean what can we expect? Better interfaces? Wireless connections between synths/modules/sequencers? More compact equipment? I sometimes have a feeling that, the more the piece of equipment technologically advanced, the more unstable and unpredictable he is. Especially the PC based rquipment. As for Hardware equipment we always getting more powerfull synths with more options but it just ain't getting more friendly.
So what do you think?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

right answer:

if there was a machine like that i would think of the best equipment so that i could use it to make the track... it's not fun if it's made on its own...

true answer:

if there was a machine like that i would think of a black lamborgini diablo with angelina jolie naked inside           in search for an answer...

But he said a machine that reads the sounds in the mind.
I think it's making them by yourself

Anyway let's be realistic - software will kill hardware (most of it anyway). Except the essentials - midi controllers, monitors, etc.

Software cannot kill hardware for the simple reason that you cannot run software without hardware and vice versa, you cannot rum hardware without sofware.

And second thing. A machine that reads the sounds from the brain will be very creative tool, and it is going to be a very helpfull tool.
And another thing, some researchers already are working on a machine like that, so far they succeded to recieve alpha waves that are transmitted by our brain and create some
basic patterns. This is called BGM, brain generated music.
If you wanna know more about it, search in the internet for a company called NeuroSonics.
Good luck           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

mike, i can say u my wishes arent impossible and
i wonder why it havent made till now:

i want to have a mixing tool which analyses the
frequences in a song and automaticly places the
new sounds i edit somewhere in the frequence-spectrum where the other ones have holes.

it would be also great to have a gate function which sends midi-notes when a sound is gated.
image what u could do for lines and sequences.

when u know any cubase-It-specialist, please tell him...thanx

Hey Kitnam, if I dig you correctly about the gating thing, it's totally possible, you can do it with almost any new synth. In the Virus, for example, you have a dynamic input mode which allows you to gate audio by writing a midi part or playing the keyboard.
About that other device, just hunt down a sound engineer and put him it a cage or something for later use

i would say:
a self normalizing mixer\sound card

maybe i'd go further for "monitors" that transmit the sound straight to your brain, it will have the most perfectly clear sound and you could do it while your mom is sleeping .

          REHAB is for quitters

Well i heard about a new speaker technology which transmits very narrow and dense sonic beam (very much like Laser but for audio frequencies) straight to the listener.
With this kind of technologies you can actually go to a club and decide which music you want to hear based on physical location on the room!
And i don't even mention you won't ever bother your parents or neighbours wih your music.
Or imagine you in a car with all your family when everybody listenes to it's own fav music.
It's already patented and it's going to be huge hit in 5,6 next years. So watch out for this!

A self normalizing mixer\sound card?
It's not a technology problemm rather personal.
Every sound technician and artist will prefer another way their sound will be mixed.
I saw once plug in that could do some automatic equalizing based on several parameters, didn't like it too much.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me
