Hi there!

I'm am really wondering on how to go fourth making a bassline similar to the one Fungus Funk uses in f.ex. Geona & Dis. I have tried using a sine wave, but I cant get it right. I also have tried cutting up a kick and using the last part of it. It kinda worked, but still, its not it. It lacks the tone, and its all too bassy and rumbling, and it doesnt got the wuOObb sound that I'm after. Even after loads of eq's, compressors etc. So, any tips for a newb?

The email there didnt seem active... at least Dark_Dork didnt get an answer. Sure its not "fungusfunk@mail.ru" and not "funkusfunk@mail.ru"? Seems strange :S

Anyways, these is a theme we could discuss;)

I think you are on the right track with the kick drum. If its to bassy and rumbling you should use a lowcut filter. Also set the attack time of the kick to a bit more than the fastest. This should give you a more wuOObb'ish sound.
Also remember to find the right kick sound. Not any kick will do ofcourse.

Or perhaps using a pitched down tom might work as well....           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Try using a 808 bassdrum. I've played around with it, and you get a similar sound as Fungus Funk.           ________________________

Narcosis, is this a preset you have made or was it there from the beginning? What is it called?
