EDIT: if you chose to make it offkey, i'd sugest that you make it offkey at first, and then make it play along with the rootkey, that will make the melody quite alot stronger

Nice job bro, especially the first part. Crisp and clear and well produced sounds. For the main melody, I think it is fine, except at 2:36 and 2:54, I would suggest changing that G# down to a G, and the same for subsequent G#'s.
If you are doing this on purpose (adding a 'passing note') to add some spice, I would use D# if you can, although not in place of the G#. The melody would have to be rearranged.
Perhaps try this and see if you like it. It may not be your taste however:
[G A ][F# G ][E ][D# ] (4 bars)
[E ][D ][B ][B ] (4 bars)
The second lot of 4 bars is the same as what you had, which is cool as! Don't hear pentatonic style scales pulled off very often, and yours is great!
