hey there

sorry if this has been asked before, but its always good to give some more extra work for moderators

i was wondering if you know any full on that actually makes sense

it would be great to have answers from the quasi-fascist psychedelic music lovers, thats the kind of opinion im looking for, because frankly i havent heard good full on since 2002/2003.

but anywayws the other day i listened to no rules from gms again, and it didnt feel so good as before heheh, so well let me know if there is any hope left in this sub-genre.

i feel that we have seen almost everything of this subgenre. It is going since 1998 (pigs in space - pigs in space), which is quite long... Goatrance only evolved for 6 years before disappearing almost entirely, and nobody does anything groundbreaking in that subgenre anymore, so fullon has been going longer then that already, and it took longer before it became stale (but because of the massive amount of superfluous releases u don't quite notice that it took longer to become stale, goatrance doesn't have this problem, so it doesn't give u that impression like psytrance does)... I think that the South african boys were the last group of people who took it a step further and if u listen to the crap they are making these days (i'm still disappointed about that damage album) u know that they have given it the best they've got... And that was in 2003-2004, since then i didn't see any evolution anymore... Unless u count the misted muppet. That was a mix between full-on and goatrance and sounded very fresh imho... Maybe full-on will go that way? No way to predict really, but if it does evolve again it still has a few more years under the bonnet... Which would be great

There are very few full-on albums that made sense in the last few years. Scorb's debut, Panic's debut, Wild Things Records first Compilation. Not much more i'm afraid

I have a full on track called "Fire Sense" with "make sense" sample. lol

But IŽd like to mention some track newer than 2002(release date) wich imho are really good full on:

Pixel vs Intelabem - Methaminimal
Sub 6 - Droid who Save the Queen/El Novasion
Wizzy Noise - Super Vitamin
Astrix vs Domestic - Massive Activity
Zorba - The Rush

and many others to be remembered.

So I think thereŽre some goodies full on music out there... Although the respective albuns of these artists are not so "inovative" as these tracks.           LOADING...

Full on is tired, so let it catch its breath, come up with some new ideas.

My suggestion would be to look at intelligent psy produced in UK/USA. Honestly, there is a freshness in ideas and production that can be felt when listening to Prometheus, Mood Deluxe or Ghreg on Earth. It sometimes has a sense of humor, is loaded with quirky cultural references (samples) extending beyond the blockbuster hit of the summer, yet keeps on sounding "psy". Imagine if Aphex Twin or Venetian Snares or Black Lung started making psy, well that's what were getting at here.

Check out these labels:

Psybooty Records - http://www.discogs.com/label/PsyBooty
Liquid Records - http://www.discogs.com/label/Liquid+Records+(2)
Truffle Records - http://www.discogs.com/label/Truffle+Records
Wirikuta Recordings - http://www.discogs.com/label/Wirikuta+Recordings

Intelligent psy, as opposed to psychotic darkpsy, isareli xstacy plastic fullon, or pumping coked up german progressive, is the future (Sorry for the gross generalization)
