hmm nice info same setting i have on the bass, but im unformilair with laying too, how would you process the sine for lower octave? leave it or just a lopass say at about 100hz?

what notes and ocataves are these on then? did you use too synths for bass or just one per channel?

forgot to say, you have to change waveform! on the Alien! to vintage saw or Saw DB to get that nice touch..
about layering basses, well it can be very difficult and it can be as easy as you choose the right sounds that complement each other...
just start experimenting with two synths...
i tend to not work that way right now, for me its works well with just one instrument for bass...
why make life complicated if its not needed... or if you are not bored or if you feel that you need more of a challange... though the case can be that you get better result with layering the basses...
otherwise layering sounds is a great way to get a massive fuller sound picture... its just the same principle of adding more osc´s on a synth

o rite my mistake i thought u layerd the two together on your clip, and that u said about one bass bieng a lower ocatve eg a1 e1 b1
to having another play at the same time but an ocatve higher like a2 e2 b2 no?

Its just Alien 303 and tweaked in the way i described it... if you want the patch i can post it? it goes in A

how did you process it mate? i think quadrafuzz puts outa tune from the kick, eq 250 n 500hz? do u use multiband compression?
cheers, no worries i can synthisis just confused on the octaves bit at the min

best way is always to get your head around it...
look here.. dont start putting on Dynamic FX on the kick and bass its just a waste of time... find the right sounds to begin with, a nice and heavy kick, you can find some real good ones here at isra forum if you search.. or make your own but it takes some time and experience.
lets say now that you decided to work in the key of A, then you need to find a kick that works for that key... something thats pumping along.. trail and error..
this i made now is not a cubase project, though i work most time in cubase but this is FL studio.
wait a sec and ill post a midi and the synth patch

i made the mistake of mixing in hd 650s headphones but listen because i think i kinda nailed it i used notes A and E for the bounce, some hats and trippy sounds from z3ta
