I remember someone mentioning that he had a free pack of Sylenth presets. I've searched Isra but can't find it (though the search function is crap here).

Or did I imagine that? I've searched google but can't find it. Anyone else heard this or am I losing my mind? LOL           https://soundcloud.com/craic-addict

2 detuned saw oscillators, highpass filter, some unison and chorus.

Best advice I would give you: learn substractive synthesis.

The lead you are looking for is a mix of the already mentioned elements plus some others. Varying the ammount of these will render different results depending on the synth used.

- unison detune
- distortion
- portamento / glide
- pitch modulation (LFO / ENV)
- filter modulation (mostyl HP & BP)
- fx

The pitch modulation can come either from clever glide and midi pattern setup (gliding notes octaves apart) or from synth settings... or both.

PS. Recommended synths: Sylenth, synth1, toxic, albino, zebra, massive, etc.

well in some synths is easy to make pitch modulation others i find it hard or i just dont like the way it sounds, its all about the kind of noises that it can make, i already had some lessons i achieve close sounds but i really think that im missing something but i will keep trying until i achieve what i want.

The easiest way to make these kind of leads are with synths like Albino 3, or Predator,, All you have to do is open any "ravey" lead sound from the presets,,,make sure there is chorus or unison on it (not too much),,, Put some distortion plug in,,,,Put a Hi Pass filter on with a relatively high resonance setting, and viola! Make sure you cut away the low frequencies with a EQ of course. The pitch bend on the Albino is very useful if you are aiming to make this kind of style.           https://soundcloud.com/lostandfound

when i was into these sound ,after selling my virus i find fab filter twin to be very good, turn on unisson ,detune, one envelop on the pitch hp filter with lfo

you can start first by detuning 2 saw by a few cents , one you modulate the pitch just a little with a lfo at very fast rate to make the sound phater but this dont work/ sound good with all synth

with massive and sylenth you can probably make great one

Put the glide function on "Bend",,,set it to 12,,,,Put the Time setting in the middle. Sorted. Just mess around with it. Sometimes "bend" isn't even necessary, you just have to start with the right sound. Almost all of the Dance-Lead presets are usable. With this kind of sound the most important factor is the high pass filter.           https://soundcloud.com/lostandfound
