new cd from moon spirit records soon in your best records shops...well what can i say ? i like it not because of a frienship with most of them for a long time...or because i'm french...but a classic mix of what france has to offer in full on end of night tunage...from lestat, mael or bamboo forest to wizzy noise and gms...some people would say it sounds the same and never change but this is maybe why we like it so much on this part of the world...only for the aficionados ...well done j-b.

I just got this one a few days ago and find it to be a wonderful album.  Sick melodies everywhere.  The Walhalla track seems a bit out of place and doesn't really do too much, but all other songs on the album are complete floor killers, with a great little downtempo piece by Toires in the end.  I personally like this CD even better than the first Moon Spirits compilation, which was brilliant in itself.  Similar style, just more flow and more top notch tracks.

Highlight for me is the Talamasca & Manitu track "Genetic Monster" (finally it is on CD!), but the rest of the tracks are not far behind.  This is definitely recommended for anybody into the full on French/3D Vision sound.  If you liked Program Change, you will love this one. :) I would put this and Program Change as my top two albums so far for 2001.

Danger, if you want more trance from the French, there is a brand new CD out named "Gaia IX" on a new French label called XIII Bis Records.  Has some French artists, some non-French artists.  It looks to be a mixture of the full on sound (ie, Bamboo Forest), the more techno-ish sound (Yumade, Synchro), and some progressive (S-Range, Blue Planet Corp).  I have not listened to samples yet, so I do not know how good it is.  www.psyshop.com has samples, though.

Absolum also just came out with an album on TIPWorld that is very nice.  Not so many melodies, but it is very strong in the typical Christof style.  I like it a lot.  The next Talamasca album is also supposed to be out on Spiral Trax in September.  So, there is plenty of trance from France this year. :)

I have started a new thread and didn't notice that there is already a thread of this compilation so here is my (full) review:

This fresh lable proudly show us or recall us its abilities secondly after the compilation Lunar Civilization which is their first released.

Bamboo Forest opens this compilation with scary effects and deep dark bassline who gets involved with echoed samples and filtered sounds which takes the melodic part here.
Next are Neuromotor with swift rythem but not high BPM one which is supported by proper bassline and psychedelic melodic sounds and breaks.
Then Bansi remixes his mate Ricktam from GMS and Celli's work as Soundfarmer with melodic bassline and "GMSic" melodies and passes and change the style to "1.5DVision" until the next track which start the representation of the full on 3DVision french style. In the beginning you might recognize the Aliens's sample which was firstly used on Infected Deedrah's My Mummy Said which was firstly released on Space Mantra of BNE in 1999 and a year after on Goa Gil's Cyberbabas 2000. Again we can hear those french unemotional screaming melodies and the full-on BPM rythem [IMHO this style won't live much longer].
Wizzy Noise here keeps the line with its own way of mono bassline and drum-like style of fullon.
The growling mad scientists give us here their known samples - bassdrum, bassline, twiters, effects, melodies, passes etc. so we have here another GMS track - killer or not, it's still another!!
Jaia with a blessed change here [IMO] of "Jaia's structure" with tribal drums which replaced in the middle after a nice break and movement to a great rythem.
Now the minimal strike is back :) - the tribal machine probably takes here the synthesizer place because a melody you want find in those 10 minutes.
Nomad starts aand continue very strongly with rhythmical bassline then follow samples in the sort of  Christof's (as Absolum). A real fullon gem which gets better after the sampled break. The best star here is surly has been born by Nomad.
The last one is an ambient track featured by a flute the arabic culture which gonna chill you out brilliantly.

To conclude, this compilation contains here maily dancefloor traxx of lots of style while also expressing the process our music is going through these days in a certain way.
Buy it, unless you are extreme minimal or psychedelic freak lover!

Bom, 8)
