Full Color
Utopia
Acidance

Tracklist:
Burger n’ Fries
Himitsu
The Numerical Comination
Saiko Circus
The Pills
Syncramental
Let’s Go Party
Bizarre Drug
Pandora’s Box

This debut solo album of DJ Freddy K is definitely an evolution from his work with Color Drops. The production is warm and complex. The arrangements are creative and twisted. Judging from this album, Fred’s idea of Utopia is utterly bizarre and atmospheric. This album is utterly sick, and should appeal to fans of Earthling, Parasense, or Lotus Omega.
01– This one is very atmospheric, and could almost be called minimal if it weren’t so layered. The sounds weave in and out of each other, industrial and mechanic. They’re still delaying between my ears… For some reason, it kind of reminds me of Tristan.
02– After an intro from some computer programmer’s nightmare, the bass comes rolling in like the tide. From here on, we’re treated to a nice arrangement of melody and quirky sounds. There’s even some old 303 sounding stuff knocking about. The evil giggles are a nice touch, too.
03 – When Numerical first appeared on (the Acidance comp.) Ritual Dance, I sat up and took note. Before then, I hadn’t been overly impressed with Full Color’s previous material. But with this tune, I began to keep my eye out for the full length. I hope that says something…
04 – This one has a melodic, almost Israeli, influence to it. But I didn’t care for the use of the “psychedelic circus” sample again. It also doesn’t seem to be as well produced as the rest of the album. However, it does have some good ideas knocking about in it. Maybe a remix is in order?
05 – A cool dubbed out intro starts this one off. A slow rolling track, it just grooves along. Very tech-y, with lots of samples, some delayed metal guitar, and shrill synths. I think the people in Amsterdam will enjoy it very much. Kind of reminded me of Droidsect.
06 – Syncramental picks up the ball and getting things rolling again. Yet it also is kind of a deep techno track, as far as arrangement is concerned. You surf along on different samples and noises, until the melodies and acid lines slide their way in. Then out. And then in. And then out… Good headphone music.
07 – Let’s Go Party puts things back in, well, a party frame of mood. The nice bouncing bass line will get people dancing, and the well-layered synth will keep them there. More straight forward psy trance then some of the other material on offer here. All it lacks is a really pounding build.
08 – I really like how the sounds play off of each other in Bizarre Drug. Lots of nice little stabs and squiggles. Some of the synth work is almost progressive, but fits well within the feel of the song. Occasionally, it does seem to take a bit to get where is going. Once you get there, however, it’s all good.
09 – When you open up Pandora’s Box, what comes out is slow, groovy, and weird. Floating synth lines carry you along to the funky bass. Then, the box opens, and things start rolling, melting, increasing, pulsing, squealing, driving… And you can’t stop it. One of the stand out tracks, when it comes to arrangement. Simple, and yet complex.

Bottom line… Nice twisted music that will keep you listening. However, not the peak time full-on material you’d usually expect from Acidance. It’s well crafted, complex, and intriguing. Pick it up if you like good music!

First solo album from Freddy Kakka formerly known as Colordrops.

Burger N’ Fries got a warm bassline which purrs, except this few things to say. No real melody, better says a big groovy bass, some twisted fx on the end. I find this one a bit flat & clinical, however could fit to psyche-proggy lovers but for me an average one.

Himitsu is a jerky-groovy psychedelic tune, more pleasant than previous one. The track is embellished with woman japanese sample in its begining, a quite happy, funny & bouncing musical result.

Then comes the famous Numerical Combina already appearing on Ritual Dance, the last Acidance compilation. For those who still don’t have heard it, it's a psy-full on stuff with twisted fx on melodic sound & also some metallic electric riffs in his start.

Saiko Circus is exactly what i call Funkadelic Full-on, i mean dancefloor oriented, quite fast with funky bass with the happy psychedelic touch more of course all this with great & captivating melody. A pure raving moment fill in with several huge fx.

The Pills sounds to me as a clash between neo-metal with these typical hard & extemely dirty riffs and psy-full on all in midtempo. Definitively not for my ears.

Syncramental could be perceived like a tune in the same style as The Numerical Combina, here less energy but more cosmic feeling on his second half.

Let’s Go Party is the second Trancefunkadelik stuff, another true feast for Full Color, this one is a bit more agressive & stomper ; not too much fx comparing to Saiko Circus.

Bizarre Drug opens on a muffled intro, some delay & echoes on the 2 melodic sounds wich are both played out of time. Then the bassline gets groovier. I think that’s the track where the jazz background influences of Full Color are the most impactfull.

Pandora’s Box, last but not least, the rythmic in the intro is imitating someone walking. There’s a lead muted-org offering a funny childish melody, the atmosphere is dark-nebulous sphere in quite midtempo way.

Highlights by order : 4,7,9
Then :3,8,2

The coverart is original with his psychedelic-childish toon universe.

Lots of Idea from Full Color accomodated with a personnal view of psytrance but each attempt isn’t a masterpiece unfortunatly, i’ll retain only that Full Color has succeeded in establishing a personnal musical soundscape & by proposing nearly each new track - a new idea/build up even if his compositions don’t always reach his target : effectiveness.

Mark : 7/10

Well Mr. Freddy K has blessed us in the trance world with a nice piece of art work. THis album is quite good and a real improvement from colordrops, at least from the tracks I heard. He has been doing a good Job here in TOkyo this summer, and he is a true master of sound. BUt the truly unique and amazing thing about Freddy is that more than his musical talent he is a truly wonderful human, with a good heart and compassion for people. something which has been lost somewhat these days in trance, here is a man with real passion...so enjoy

mad respect to Freddy K from the Shoto crew Kyle, Daniel, Charly, etc..

I had no idea this was color drops. I decided to listen because I recognized the name from an Acidance comp and have always liked Acidance music. To my surprise it was amazing. Good work. I'm impressed. I know I will play this material and hopefully this artists gets the recognition he deserves. Again, good stuff.

Very nice album, very good ideas and construction. This album is not going to "destroy" the dancefloor but will give a nice journey and will hipnotise many people.
I like it very much.
track 4 "Saiko Circus" will make acidheads go insane for sure, great masterpiece and sometimes comic track. total killah.

I rate this album a 7/10           Opus Iridium

I dunno about you, but I find this album very boring, not innovative (at all), quite repetitive and not worth listening more than twice.
