i would say that the route we took up from SF was only boring for the first few hrs. i think it was about 6 hours total including a walmart stop for supplies

the last hour or more was beautiful drive through mountains, tunnels , along rushing rivers, and BAM BOOM youre there and its time to get down!

I'd agree with that assessment... However, the drive from Reno is essentially like that last hour the entire way, nothing but pretty mountains.

As someone currently living in Southern California with a crushing amount of I-5 in between me and the party... a flight into Reno is sounding real good... although talk to Tom or Bodhi in San Diego for a truly rough drive story...

yeah... try driving from san diego with a six year old in the car. actually though, we have her pretty well trained, and we've got the laptop with simpsons and south park to keep us entertained. when you're addicted to psytrance parties, you're willing to make the sacrifice!

As desert goddess said, the first year we went up with Eris she was only 4 years old and she was not too bad at all. She falls asleep rather easily. Seeing as how she's been attending trance parties since about 6 months old, she's almost as excited to get there as we are!!! Hell, I think she has more friends waiting to see her in the scene than all of us combined

But, the drive horror, oh my god the horror of it all. 14 goddam hours EACH WAY from San Diego.

The first 4 hours is just crawling through los angeles, then the next 7 hours is going through central cali, lots of Slaughterhouses and cowpies to completely make you wanna vomit in your car. there's no escape from it, you can try to roll your windows up, but the shit stink just seeps right through your vents. In the summer, its worse. Basically just take a crap on a plate, then throw it in the microwave and see how bad it is after warming it up to 105 degrees.

All you can do is chain smoke to try to cover it up.

But alas, that last 1 hour through the mountains just makes up for the whole trip. I still have the pics up from 05 and 06 in my myspace and tribe profiles.           We are all family. We put the fun in disfunctional.

Californian psyheads are committed, in SA we don;t drive more than 2 hours for parties. Getting to Belden Town is at least reasonably flat in comparison to venues like Source Sync 07 or Gemini 05, which involves those ancient mountain roads. But yes, it's ALWAYS worth the drive. Trans vir dood - where is Gemini 08?

Lets see!

Ahoi acidity - are you on a 3 year F1 visa? If so, you can take one year to work in your line of studying after graduation. Or, if you got cash, you can always extend it and keep studying. Either way, hope you make it out to the party.

Yes. I am on a 2yr F1 visa. Expires in May-08. Dont know what I am doing next but keeping my fingers crossed.           Discover.Vote.Share() - http://www.beamto.us
