Very true.
I get bored after a while on the dancefloor, even with a**d.
Then I often question myself if this whole Psy thing really is all that amazing, or should I rather stick to the music I really like just for it's 'true' beauty and not for it's Psychedelic value.

I'm still getting used to the pizza in portland. Having come from Pennsylvania I'm a bit of an east coast pizza snob. Best I've found sofar is Al Forno Ferruzo on Alberta in NW. Always looking for great pizza though.

yeah, haven't had it more than once I don't think but my opinion of hotlips is its pretty much the same deal as any of the various PDX chains of pizza....like pizzicato, or pizza schmiza...

definitely not bad, probably the best 'chain pizza' type pizza that I've had (those 3, and other equivalent PDX type stuff). That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the portland obsession with tons and tons and tons of ridiculous toppings...and its still chain pizza. and expensive! $30 for a large pizza? That's fucking crazy. Not outlandish compared to the rest of portland, but definitely overboard imo.

Im kind of a minimalist, I like plain or extra cheese or pepperoni with a bit of basil. Sometimes some feta or other stuff...but I can't stand anchovies, olives, and not usually a fan of veggies on pizza in general - I am pretty much there for the holy trinity of crust/sauce/cheese and find that sometimes the toppings detract from that experience

The place I go to on alberta is like $7 for a small plain pie, which is the perfect amount of food for 2 people and they put fresh basil on it. Plus they have legit coca-cola made with SUGAR and not CORN!!!

There is something special about coke and pizza. something magical. Almost as good as LSD and psytrance hehe.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

well... going back to what kristian and pom said - i hardly listen to new releases for the past couple of months or maybe even a year now... 2-3 years ago i started listening again to the music that i grew up on... i just called it trance back then - not goa, not psy - just trance, and it was seriously good music - hell i still listen to it and absolutely love it and think that this music still is probably the only kind of music that evokes such feelings for me - thoughts too, but its not unique to trance, whereas the feelings are.

for the past 2 years ive been going to parties where the majority if not all of the music is from those years - whats being generalized today as goa trance (yea i call it that too - nowdays if you refer to it as trance you also include that nonsense 180bpm machine gun cat in a blender music, cheesyass melodies/vocals riding a 145bpm beat and well... what i used to call house music too... minimal-tech trance? wtf is that? there is minimal trance and about 5 artists probably all of them from zenon who are making minimalistic trance tracks, the others are playing house for a trance crowd).

those are the relatively smaller parties for the most, and i find myself enjoying them way more than i used to enjoy parties in the past 6 years - in those years for me it was to go to a trance party simply cuz thats where i could listen and dance to trance music - whatever it may be (full on full full on and later on some darker stuff). i did enjoy the music but it wasnt nothing more than what i described, on the other hand, the goa parties give me that amazing feeling that only a good journey can give you... i end up absolutely exhausted and very happy smiling about the journey i had.

to cut a long post short - i enjoy full on/prog/minimal and even some so called dark trance, but the real deal for me is trance, be it from 92-98 or from 2011, as long as its the vein and carries the spirit of the music that was produced when this whole deal just started (i guess you'd call it the "goa trance era").

gonna have an amazing party with ray castle/nick taylor/etnica/x-dream/koxbox real soon

I was referring mostly to the composition, but I guess all anyone cares about is production.

I'll agree it's not the best-produced track, but I like the way the melody flows.

It's certainly more interesting to me than 9 out of 10 tracks I've listened to from the past 4 years.

I really like melody and it seems to me like most psytrance with melody tends to either have lots of overblown breakdowns/buildups, or be slower than I like. This track doesn't follow that trend.

Also perhaps the reason it's roughly produced is because it's an in-progress track? It's not released...

I also like how all the little fills don't interrupt the flow of the track. I can keep dancing right through them without losing my groove. At the same time they're varied, it's not the same fill over and over (like I'm used to from amateur psy producers)

When I said "this is what psytrance should sound like", I didn't mean that it was the best track I'd ever heard, just that it doesn't do a lot of the annoying things I find lots of psytrance doing (excessively long breakdowns/buildups, way too much non-rhythmic noise, excessively weird beat structure)
