lately I started being more serious about this hobby of mine, which somehow led me to not being satisfied with my fruity performance(and this is my main tool..)

how come, even when it has asio, the fl3.4 sounds much lower in level and sharpness, when you export???

why people with cubase don't have this prob?

[sobbing] i don't wanna use cubase, too complicated 4me

i don't know why, but i think floops has many automatic features turned on by default.
maybe (not sure), maybe if u dig deep enough, you'll find out how to make floops not to do eq, compress and level for your tracks, and then you have a chance of really controlling the sound.
i brought up once this example: i took some sample and loaded it into wavelab, cubase and floops.
cubase & wavelab sounded the same. fruity sounded differently.
but ... i touched this prog 5-6 times, only for seeing the cool (.::Photorealistic::.)GUI.

bom.

n.b.
using cubase/logic is not complicated: 1st u make simple things... then u go deeper, and eventually you'll do it anyway, so why to wait ;-)

ahi, like you I'm deep in the academy world - so i have "a lot" of free time...
so after mastering fruity and getting comfortable expressing myself there, I really don't have enough time to master cubase now - though i would like that.

What is a really great thing, is the new fruity 3.5 - which is able to act as a VSTi.
So u can Just load it into Cubase or Logic(!) and work with it from within these programs.

and I guess the quality of the sound might get better - haven't tested anything yet.

I have your questions solved. I used to have that same problem with fruity loops. The thing is not to equalize anything in fruity. Raw Audio then edit the loop after saving it with Sinc Depth 256. the more i Eqed in fruity the less export quality i got. the effects and what not never seemed to bother it very much.

depends on what fruity version you have. in fruity 3.3 and 3.4 you have asio support and i EQ everything and get good sound quality.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

after u have finished a track export it to several waves
kick
bassline
hihats+snares
ect.

then, import waves in cubase, compress and eq it and u've got the perfect sound!

btw, in fruity 3.5 it will be a lot easier cause it is VSTi.

fruity loops 3.5 is great and simple.. Any other function that a higher fl may have is just an upgrade..most of the things u upgrade can do the 3.5version does to,but the upgrade simplyfies it.

FL is a great loop creation program and you can make full tracks on it.. but it should not be used for mastering. But its great for jamming...

I recommend to create the loop in the program witch you are more confortable with, so you can rapidly DO what thinking of.you shouldt have to look for the things, you should know what you can do,what you know how to do and what you want to do. And after lhe loop is created PLEASE use a wav editor to master your track. It is possible (but extremely hard and annoying) to master a track in a one track prog (like Dexter or Sony Sound Forge.. ). But its easyer and better to use a multi track prog (Cubase, Acid..) so you can define each chanel or track to a part of the song (bassline, drums, fx, lead). like that its easy to organize and master your song, or even to make slight changes of post editing (like to eq your track while playing it live, cause each party you end up playing in has a different sound system).
