Hello friends,
Well i just wanted to know is there any solution to the problem of popping and crackling in FLstudio.i tried varying the buffer length ...but doesnt help..it keeps overloading.
I've downloaded the ASIO4ALL drivers too..but doesnt help much..i've tried all combinations.

I have learned that when ever i load up too many VSTi's in a pattern...this issue starts.

I'm using a HP notebook with specs :-

Intel pentium(centrino) 1.8GHz
2GB RAM(ddr1)
The sound card is inbuilt provided by the compnay.

p.s. i have tried most of the buffer combinations...but it doesnt help

if u use to many vsti plugins and u rise ur performance high its normal to have spikes in ur cpu.

there is a cpu graph on the top in fl u can see there how much cpu u use if its more than 85% u get clicks and pops.

consider that ur laptop isnt a very powerful one and vsti are heavy on the cpu.

try use "swich smart disable all plugins" can also be cpu friendly

a soundcard with asio drivers will help for this too

The quickest way for you to take out that crackling is to increase your latency (Options->Audio Settings)...

Before I bought a external sound card I used fl on a pentium Celerom 600 Mhz and latter on on a celerom 1.8 Ghz... You can actually load a good number of vst's... You just need to increase that latency.... If you put it to 100 ms you can be playing a lot of things at once....

So try increasing that latency bar until you don't see any buffer underruns (each underrun is a crackle you hear). Do this while playing the track for better results, and always adjust i to your needs... I couldn't get it lower than 35 ms without problems...

If it's too low for your sound card you will hear crackles just by playing a wav file or a vst or two....

If you really want the best solution, buy en external sound card... Because of doing that my latency is at 10 ms (kowabunga!!!)

i think its a processor issue.
upgrade your pc. (switch to DDR 2)
and an Audio card cant harm
just remember not to have a low-end pc, and a really high-end alien machine kinda audio card.

PS
if you're using the ASIO4ALL driver, switch to your computer's onboard audio card driver.
that should help a bit.
and be careful with switching ALL plugins to smart disable.
your longass reverbs and delays and get chopped up quickly.
just know what you are disabling (Smartly )          Love is Life
