i got fruity loops 3.4, now 3.5. always when a song contains much samplers a VERY loud crackling and distortion goes a long with the music. even with my new machine!!
computer data is pentium IV, 1.8 Ghz, 256 mb RAM
the cpu in fruity shows about 40 - 60, but i dont think it's a cpu problem with this computer....
thanx and a very good 2003 to everyone:-)

What is your Sound Card ??? Do you hear any harsh if not playing any track and putting the volume to the max??? May be you volume is too high and this making music harsh?
Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else. |

If the level is not the problem it could come from latency too.
If DirectSound or even ASIO buffer size is too low it can lead to crackle. Try to go to WAV
settings and increase buffer size. Be aware that
you are increasing latency by doing so.
hope this helps. |

Hello!!!
I am new here, and this is my first post
so about your question, i had the same prblem , all you need to do is go to
Options - > Audio Settings
and the in the
"DirectSounds Streaming buffer"
increase it, i have now 64ms and it works great

its not a fruity problem its a hardware issue
i had the same shit too some times
try to change from direct sound to asio and do atodetect for all the parameters in the asio control panel..
this solves most of the clickin'n'glickin stuff
  ***dread controls***
