I don't get one thing, while ppl speak of Reson's flexibility/versatility i can get it, it is flexible and versatile but tell me one function Fruity Producer has that other sequencers don't? You even can't bind keys there, audio editing is horrible and there is no proper way to work with external hardware.

I don't get the hype over Fruity Producer, it is not only harm output but also not that great sequencer. It is easy yes! Once you know Cubase it is way more easier since it has key binding for any function you want, same as Sonar. I just don't know other sequencers so i can't say their functions.

Now, those who think that Fruity is great software since it is easy are wrong .
First of all the most advanced music in therms of psytrance i've heard made on tracker applications, these are the most advanced if we speak of arranging notes. Second of all, Fruity isn't that easy, just face it, with one key pressed i can activate macro within Cubase, while in Fruity this action may take 2 minutes to do.

"Now, those who think that Fruity is great software since it is easy are wrong"....

i dont think fruity is easier so much!
its got more friendly interface...
i think people consider it "easier"or"simpler" lets say, cause its SAID to be easier and mostly about the interface thing.
u dont get scared when u first look at it n dont know a thing about producing IMO!
respect!

I had an easier time learning cubase the sequencer in fruity is like being locked up when im making music I dont want to be frustrated about boundries that constrict an idea either way this isnt the question if its good or not.

the question is do artists use it and that has been answered.

theres no reason to use just one program.
You can do whatever you want and use whatever you want (hell, even work with microsoft sound recorder)

Don't you see a little controversy here?

Yes sorry. I explained myself a bit badly...
I was trying to simpley say that theres no need to use just one program. And no need to use two. Or three. Just whatever is most comfortable and gets the best results for you.

but keep in mind its not a "either this or that" situation... therefore Cubase is not the opposite or the other side of FL.
Thats all...

Ok, i guess i chose a wrong metaphor. Lets get it straight. "Everyone should see what's available on the market of sequencers and then choose what to use." (Either rewire or not)

Yes groovy!!!!

---try the beat slicer functions
---try the amazing granulizer
---try the peak controller to make sidechain from anything to anything not just comprssion. (hehe show that on any other sequencer plz!)
--- try the amazing automations u can create
---try LFO TOOL
--- try fruityloops man u bullshit here.

You even can't bind keys there, audio editing is horrible and there is no proper way to work with external hardware.

---i work with nordlead and roland tr707 and waldorf micro Q.
external inough?
---audio edit is good only cubase auto save changes and in fruity u must rename and save them. not so horriblle but waste some time.

---btw - cubase realy sux compare to fruity as it comes to external hardware.. almost the same but fruity is 10% better in this cause of presets convinience . may be u dont know what u do there.

---why wrong? "whats easy is right" said one man named osho.

First of all the most advanced music in therms of psytrance i've heard made on tracker applications, these are the most advanced if we speak of arranging notes.

--- fruity is the last sequencer based on tracker method of producing sounds.

This threat shows something else, which i think, maybe i am wrong, is only possible in fruity:

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/83765/forum/2

However, all seq have advantages and disadvantages. For me the built in browser for quick previewing samples is a great advantage of fruity, and it is something i really miss in cubase. Cubase got a nice audio editor - this is what i miss in fruity, coz the built in editor is only able to do some basic edititing.            Signature

It's still just a tool ... (Fruityloops, Cubase, ...)
Ideas come out of you!

+ Why saying the one is better than the other?
I know so much artists that use Fruityloops, but ...
I know atleast asmuch artists that use Cubase and the "sound" is still the same, whenever you use Fruity or Cubase

At the end of the day all of these programs are tools to achieve the same purpose, expressing yourself through music..Different strokes for different folks, everyone prefers to work the way it suits them best..I used to work with fruity but i moved on to cubase coz i was happier with the flexibility and the sound i was getting out of it..now i couldn't think of turning back but it doesn't mean fruity is a bad program..

Just remember, FL Studio exists for a few years only, Cubase is over 10 years if Im not mistaken. Let FL get better and youll see.

Both are awesome programs!
I was working in FL for a few years and just moved to Cubase recently. I love both of them. Just like you said they are tools, use as much tools as you can to get the results that YOU want.

You shouldnt fight what software\vst is better. Instead, put those efforts to make new good music and show us what you capable of!

Its all about what is more comfortable to you. The ability of these programs is huge.
