when you select vst instruments > fruity multi >
then in fruity loops (in the output section for each channel) instead of selecting the individual outputs going to "master" select on of the channel number outs an individual number and voila each track will go to its own in the vst mixer.
Make sense ? hmmm fiddle around a bit youll soon see what i mean itys simpler than it sounds.

Just put same audio sample in FL and Cubase, put same effect (same preset),put same eq (same preset) and render both samples in same quality. After listen results using good monitors or studio headphones. I`ll be glad if you correct me
(I`m not tested FL 6 may be they made upgrade I hope)
About special programs: Wavelab, Sound Forge, Adobe Audition - any program with good dithering algorithm
But I will be happy if you correct me

what ? .. do you mean that the rendered file won't be as good with FL than with SX ?
with earlier versions of FL (maybe the 4th), i saw in a serious forum people who made this test, and there where absolutly no difference.
they analyzed the files with a kind of soundforge as well.

Today it is even vice versa.

I saw a threat on kvr that cubase sx3 does something like smoothing/coloring to the sound when it gets rendered. So it sounds different when it is rendered then while listening to the unrendered stuff.

I don't know if it is true or not, or if it is bad or not.           Signature

I really dont think theres much difference to be honest. But actually if anything id say fruity loops had a "warmer" sound than cubase.
If what you said about cubase is true then yes it is bad, very bad because you want your sound to be exactly what you created, if any "colouring" is done then it should be your choice not the machines ! However I can say Ive noticed it and dont believe that such a pro tool as cubase would do something so wrong.

what i understand is that cubase exports clearer sound from fl but i dont have the experience to talk general about it..
i also heard that sx lacks in bpm...som1 told me that post-rendering it lacks one or two bpm!!
didnt believe it but...anyone knows?

no no ...
if you don't have bug with your system, something like that don't happen.
personaly, i never noticed this, using both softwares since 5 years thru lot of versions.
I also noticed that it's more the listener who is warmer or colder than the rendered file.
but of course sometimes strange things happen, machines have their own life...

.. just one thing in noticed in the past, if you record with an external recorder the project you play, it has some speed slow down.
but it's about 144,98 bmp rather than 145.
it was with FL3.5

No doubt ...

That was one reason why i changed to Cubase ...

About the Bpms i think its a combination of the elements used and the program.
I have noticed the same in logic 5,in some of my heavy tracks, some times became slower.
Its rare but it happens.

Its weird but i started using cubase long before fruity (since 93 on the atari !) and I actually prefer fruity sound to any other programs - easily. however to "SWAP" from fruity to cubase is weird, they serve completely different functions. I still use both today. Fruity for its sound and almost cartoon like flexibility and cubase for its multitrackin and mid capabilities and vst tech.. For example i could use fruity live but not cubase so easily, but i hate rranging stuff in fruity. I often use fruity as a plugin for cubase.
Damn i seem to be talking about music more than making it since i got increased internet access.

im shure all programs are capable of producing good sound if the user that use them use them right know they ins and outs and know at least basic production rules !

its always the user that make the tool not the oposite (this doesnt aply to apps like ejay or playstation music apps or even trackers with poor sound engine quality or maybe not...?)

I tihnk everyone should use what he feels the most comfortable with ...

If someone prefer Fruity why he should do it in Cubase ...
If someone prefer Cubase with he should use Logic ... heheh

It´s a matter of taste ...
