Global , you should ask Paradox
Checked the demo of Floops , nah it won't kill anything . Sleep well all Cubase / Logic users .
-Automation for WAV files showing a bit development by faking other sequencers also some improvement .
-New PAD , some sort of sampler , don't know how it is usefull .
-Better Automation , nah bullshit still same just new parameters added .
-Is it cost 400$ ? no way !

the best feature i liked is the fuckin time - stretching ... works sooo smooth !
the new automation clip mode is also better than b4 ... but ... y dont these fl dudes understand .. they need to change the mixer ... mixer is fuckin stone age .. !!! |

Global , i totaly agree with you . Same as rendering .
Mixer must be much bigger and without any limits , not just 64 channels . Also these channels take a memory and cpu to load so why to open something we not use .
Also should be better MIDI support to work with hardware properly .
But Floop's designers have decided to make Floops a rewire client and VSTi to finnish all Floops disadvantages . Who excaly would buy Floops and Cubase when he/she can get Cubase alone . I think it is silly :-/ |

Fruity Loops uses the old-fassioned modular mixer (I know older versions of cubase used this - not sure about the newer versions - haven't toyed around with their mixer enough), instead of a pointer-based one. On one hand, the modular mixer is less powerful than the pointer based one, but it has some features in fruity loops that make it interesting, and i think they compliment the pointer-based mixers very well sometimes. Again, the mixer is a tool, and while overall the mixers of the 'heavy' sequencers are more flexible and powerful, they are different, and fruity loops still has some very interesting advantages over them in specific things (for instance - the much more intuitive and powerful sampler system).

fl 5 is gr8!!! all new improves works and .rex filez support!!!
now.. my last ever word in this stupid - cubase-logic-fruity-reason-orion - topic.
i personly finnished couple of trax and told evryone i used cubase and got compliments for better sound quality but it was made on fruity!
and i heard : oo tsabi finnaly not fruity sound...hehe so its proved me its all bullshit.
beside that... if u know to make good sound - fruity is gr8... but most dont know.. its their fault not the program.
for me today there is no reason to open any other program - its audio recordings works amazingly just as in cubase and logic..
and beside... why do pplz care how other works? u work in ur way and enjoy others music..

as fas as quality of the sound goes .... if both programs [ sx and fl5 ] run realtime @ 32 bit float resolution , mathematically there shouldnt be any difference ...
i think the difference is more psychological than mathematical !! |

Write the exact same melody for the exact same VSTi in both cubase and fruity loops... and it will sound EXACTLY the same. The so called 'amature fruity loops sound' is imagined. A VSTi will always output the exact same signal in ANY sequencer.
FL's internal effects (at least up to 4.xx) just suck in sound quality though - but then again, Steinberg also don't have any really hot internal plugins. Logic on the other hand has superb plugins (not better than all VSTs but leagues ahead of any other sequencer - Reason included). The so called 'amature fruity sound' is because there are no numerical values on anything there - impossible to monitor anything properly... without monitors.
