it has been said here before, but i'll repeat it again...
it's not a rule, is just a recomendation : don't use the bass in the same beat where you place the kick...
but... if you have a reason to do it... be my guest

we have spoken about this before, yes people put bass notes on the same beat as kick.. and you can do so even if you dont use a 16th bass, it will give a more driving effect, pushing.. be creative and use everything you can
its nothing strange, you just find or make a kick that fits with the bass. yes its more work behind it,
some people use a sidechain compressor to duck the bass when the kick appear.. but its not a must if you sculpe the sounds to fit eachother.
its not a hard and fast rule to use the KbbbKbbb, there are many ways to do things...
