Hi!
I'd like to know from all who has released several tracks:
1)
Does one have to own all the equipment to produce the track, mix/master (whatever mix means) it oneself?
For example, I have a Toshiba Satellite L300 to work on... that's it. Which sucks because of the limitations.
Since I'm going to start studying, I won't have the money to buy any equipment myself - any suggestions of how this can be bypassed? Maybe some of you have been in a similar situation.
2)
Please share your stories how you made it through.
Cheers! |

i dont know what you already know, and didnt have release any track yet, but if you`re starting from 0
-read a lot about music theory
-read a lot about soundsynthesis
-read isratrance from the first topic
if you wont cant buy anything for a long time, just forget about the mixer, try to get a cheap second hand midi-keyboard and after that monitors, and of course get a daw and download a lot of plugins to play while you learn.

Thanks for your answer!
Well I'm not THAT newbie so no, I'm not starting from zero - since a friend of mine showed me fruity loops some years back I've been playing around some (www.myspace.com/sasnova)
To make it clearer;
When do you people know when you're finished with a track?
What is the next step? Let's say, interested in making a demo.
Take it to someone to polish the overall tracks? And how much does that cost 'normally' ?
I'd really appreciate if you could share some experience.
Thanks. |
