So I bought a Nordlead2 and very happy with my new toy....
Before this I used a lot the DiscoDsp Discovery Pro und I want to dump my own presets from the Discovery to the Nordlead.
But the Nordlead won`t read the exported Sysex Files from the Dicovery. All other sysex and ngf work without problems.
I know it is not possible to have the same sound cause of the differents between those two synths.
But for my it would be a good and fast start point to recreat my presets into hardware! Is there a solution?

BTW: Can someone reup the Deedrah Nordlead Bank?! THX

No one answer then you should play with it , if you want to sound like someone or want to create sound like that and this just need to know syntesis first then nord is for you there to make every sound that you want and every sound that you hear that makes you happy .

Synthesis no 1 .

Try All from Nord , synth is a beast , tweak all knobs and all wave forms with all off Filters , Envelops , lfo;s , Good nice Fm , try it , its yours , watch tutorials , dont be scare , best for you is to have knowlege about music-synthesis, to train you ears and then take nord and have inspiration when you touch knob and feel the power

Think about it Namaste

That`s not the answer for my question!
I know a lot of synthesizing-
I now how to get the sounds out of my Synths I want- it is not the first hardware synth I have!
I`m searching for the fastes way for me and for the solution of a problem I have!

So please don`t teach me how to go my way!
Think about this! Namaste!

I've never tried it myself!

There's an option in there that says "Export Nord Lead 2 SysEx patch", and that's presumably the only way to approach this. But something tells me that's not feasible... Only from Nord to Discovery should you expect it to work, and even so without it sounding exactly the same (depends on patches of course).

But the thing is, despite what's advertised, the two synths don't exactly match. They share a common structure, for the most part, and that's it. I still think it's a fairly easy synth structure that would allow you to get to the sounds you want merely by looking at it from the plug-in, if you really feel inclined to use your pre saved sounds - and then store them on the machine or on disk using some editor.

I think you are right. I copied the settings from Discovery manually to the Nordlead and there is so much to do to recreate the sound I wanted...!

yes, the structure is very close but the envelope's response and the FM in particular is quite different in sound - although I quite like how it sounds in the discovery pro to, but it's just different...

but those settings can surely point you in the right direction after some adjustments, no? cheers
