WHAT TO EXPECT:
Expect a night full of some of the world's most cutting edge electronic dance music. Your ears will be guided by some of the most dedicated professionals in the Southern California electronic music and dance scene. These individuals have been hand selected for their tireless efforts in bringing the most modern electric sounds from around the globe to the Southern California Electronic Music and Dance scene; and now to YOUR ears, for your aural enjoyment!
The goal of PULSAR is to regularly bring together an eclectic mix of different, yet equally modern electronic dance music styles, into a united environment where many styles can be discovered, thrive, and be appreciated. In each edition of PULSAR, one can expect new and exciting sets from PULSAR residents; along with rotating guest DJ spots from the most promising up and coming, as well as long established DJ's in the scene.
To open the night up, PULSAR resident/organizer ST.BLACK will play a set of his deep, signature blend of PROGRESSIVE, TECHNO, & TRANCE. Next up, PULSAR is very excited to welcome NIKROMA ARAGON. Nic is well known throughout the tribal community, and is one of the local scene's most loved musicians. Nic will be playing a set covering the transition between TECHNO, PROGRESSIVE, & PROGRESSIVE PSYTRANCE. Next up on the decks, PULSAR is excited to welcome another debut; the beautiful SUBOCAJ. Julie is a resident for the well known, and much loved, PsyCircle Records based in San Diego CA! Julie will be playing a groovy and encompassing set of MINIMAL/DARK PROGRESSIVE, & PROGRESSIVE PSYTRANCE. As the night progresses, PULSAR resident/organizer KAHN will take the decks. On this night, Kahn will be playing a set of intense, high energy FULL-ON PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE! As the hour draws later, we will approach the final set of the night. PULSAR is very excited to welcome back a local favorite, Andy BARAKUDA. Andy should need no introduction as the founder of the legendary Psytribe. As one of the foremost pioneers of the California Psytrance scene, he has been involved with and organized countless gatherings. Psytribe has been responsible for bringing the majority of psytrance headliners to California for well over a decade. On this night, dancers can expect a set of Andy's signature blend of PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE
The energy will continue to build well through closing, leaving dancers wondering when the next PULSAR will be held!
So we hope you will join us for PULSAR V.9! You will be TRULY happy that you did!
And on behalf of the PULSAR team, we would like to thank each and every person who made it out to any or all of the first five PULSAR events in 2010, as well as the first three PULSAR events of 2011; making all of them such unforgettable nights. These events have been filled with positive energy, love, support, amazingly friendly vibes, and have certainly bestowed a purpose on the PULSAR organizers to continue organizing these events for the sake of the dancers! You all make this possible, and we wouldn't be able to do this without your support! We do this for you, the electronic dance community!
ART/VISUALS:
At PULSAR we strive to create a fun, comfortable, energetic, and psychedelic environment for our dancers/patrons. With our limited pool of personal resources, we have a small collection of lights/black lights, wall hangings, and other miscellaneous pieces of decor. This is of course in addition to all of the sound equipment we are already bringing. We are always making an effort to enhance the visual experience of our PULSAR events, such that they only improve as time progresses. A large chunk of any donations we receive go towards Art/Visuals.
Of course we are well aware that in our community there are many artists, and others just waiting to express their hidden talents. That is why, in an effort to help the local art community, as well as to enhance the vibes of our already fantastic PULSAR events, we welcome artists professional, casual, or anything in between, who would like to contribute to the visual appeal of our events, and put their work out on display. Of course you are responsible for your artwork. I cannot guarantee the safety of your art pieces due to obvious circumstances created between dancers, beverages, and everything else. Artists who are interested, please contact me (http://www.facebook.com/KahnMusic) to let me know what you had in mind. I am willing to work with you, to figure out the correct placement, or any other details to make this work better for you. In addition, if you get in touch with me far enough ahead of time, I would be glad to include your art exhibit on the flier!
And of course non-artists, if you have any pieces of decor or lighting, especially psychedelic decor that is black light reactive, such as tapestries, posters, statues, incense burners, or anything else, we would love for you to bring it to add the the collective ambiance of the room. Thank you Kahn for inviting me to spin! I'm very excited to be a part of this night. I hope all who is around the LA area can make it out to Stubby's in Rowland Heights on this night  It will be good tunes and good grooving times for sure.
