WHAT TO EXPECT:
Expect a night full of some of the world's most cutting edge electronic dance music. Your ears will be guided by some of the most dedicated professionals in the Southern California electronic music and dance scene. These individuals have been hand selected for their tireless efforts in bringing the most modern electric sounds from around the globe to the Southern California Electronic Music and Dance scene; and now to YOUR ears, for your aural enjoyment!
The goal of PULSAR is to regularly bring together an eclectic mix of different, yet equally modern electronic dance music styles, into a united environment where many styles can be discovered, thrive, and be appreciated. In each edition of PULSAR, one can expect new and exciting sets from PULSAR residents; along with rotating guest DJ spots from the most promising up and coming, as well as long established DJ's in the scene.
PULSAR V.7 will be a very special PULSAR event!!! To open the night, we will welcome DAYV in his PULSAR premier. DAYV has been carving out a name for himself in the local scene, as well as around the country as a talented MINIMAL, and PSYCHEDELIC TECHNO DJ. His unique blend of groovy beats will be the perfect mix to start the night off right! Next up on the decks will be PULSAR resident/organizer ST.BLACK with his signature style of emotionally deep and intelligent MELODIC PROGRESSIVE, TRANCE, and TECHNO. Next, PULSAR resident/organizer KAHN will bring the energy up with a TRANSITIONAL set, starting with more PROGRESSIVE beats, moving upward into the sounds of FULL-ON, and PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE. As the night goes on, the torch will be passed to PSYTRIBE resident, SCENATOR in his PULSAR debut. Aumi will bring us a nice smooth blend of PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE with fun overtones and smiles all around! As the hour grows later, we will transition into the final set of the night. Everybody involved with PULSAR is happy to present a premier of one of the California psytrance scene's most influential DJ's, and organizers; WICHDOKTA, all the way from Ukiah, California!!!
The Wichdokta began DJing in 1996 and formed the FULL CIRCLE COLLECTIVE in Mendocino, Northern California. In 1997 he began throwing the infamous gathering called "GEMINI" that was held on the majestic Eel River. In the year 2000, Rich met up with Dr. Spook and created the loving PHOENIX FAMILY COLLECTIVE. He also runs the sound company FULL CIRCLE PRODUCTIONS. As a promoter and gathering thrower, he knows what gets the people going. The Wichdokta's sets are something special to witness. His amazing energy and sinister music go hand in hand to give you the ride of your life, on the dancefloor.
WICHDOKTA will be bringing us a set of harder edge PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE.
The energy will continue to build well through closing, leaving dancers wondering when the next PULSAR will be held!

And on behalf of the PULSAR team, we would like to thank each and every person who made it out to any or all of the first five PULSAR events in 2010, as well as the first PULSAR of 2011 which we held in January, making all of them such unforgettable nights. These events have been filled with positive energy/vibes, and have certainly shown themselves to be the beginning of something wonderful and long lasting for the Southern California electronic dance music scene! You all make this possible, and we wouldn't be able to do this without your support! We do this for you, the electronic dance community!
ART/VISUALS:
At PULSAR we strive to create a fun, comfortable, energetic, and psychedelic environment for our dancers/patrons. With our limited pool of personal resources, we have a small collection of lights/black lights, wall hangings, and other miscellaneous pieces of decor. This is of course in addition to all of the sound equipment we are already bringing. We are always making an effort to enhance the visual experience of our PULSAR events, such that they only improve as time progresses. A large chunk of any donations we receive go towards Art/Visuals.
Of course we are well aware that in our community there are many artists, and others just waiting to express their hidden talents. That is why, in an effort to help the local art community, as well as to enhance the vibes of our already fantastic PULSAR events, we welcome artists professional, casual, or anything in between, who would like to contribute to the visual appeal of our events, and put their work out on display. Of course you are responsible for your artwork. I cannot guarantee the safety of your art pieces due to obvious circumstances created between dancers, beverages, and everything else. I am willing to work with you, to figure out the correct placement, or any other details to make this work better for you. In addition, if you get in touch with me far enough ahead of time, I would be glad to include your art exhibit on the flier!
And of course non-artists, if you have any pieces of decor or lighting, especially psychedelic decor that is black light reactive, such as tapestries, posters, statues, incense burners, or anything else, we would love for you to bring it to add the the collective ambiance of the room. This is the second stop on my U.S. tour. Feb. 19th in S.F., 25th in L.A., 26th in Phoenix,AZ, Mar. 5th in Philadelphia,PA, Mar. 10th in NY, Mar. 19th in S.F., Mar. 26th in Laytonville ( 3 Day Campout ). This will be my first time playing in L.A., believe it or not, and am coming full throttle. So bring your brain buckets for what's left to take back home, Bom |

Uggh, was looking forward to this all week, but was just feeling terrible & under the weather yesterday, and just couldnt make it out, from what I hear a lot of fun was had by all and that's what matters.
@Chemistry, thanks for the kind words about my Tech set, was a pleasure meeting you at the last one.

It was fun. I didn't get there until the end of Kahns' set so that kinda sucked because it went real fast, the rain was cool but had everyone home that sucked.
Aumi it was good seeing you nice set
@Wichdokta I enjoyed hearing you for the first time. Your set had a old sound to it but fresh. didn't really know what to expect and was pleased you looked like you really enjoy life and music and thats really nice to see! hope to hear more in a proper setting
@Dancing Dude with the short hair in the zone....sorry if your chi was thrown off (hope not)
I totally was talking on the dance floor........it's all that Kahn fellows fault he was like hey cliff your fat and not with a "ph" and I was like "WHAT"!!!!!
