WHAT TO EXPECT:
Expect a night full of some of the world's most cutting edge electronic dance music. Your ears will be guided by some of the most dedicated professionals in the Southern California electronic music and dance scene. These individuals have been hand selected for their tireless efforts in bringing the most modern electric sounds from around the globe to the Southern California Electronic Music and Dance scene; and now to YOUR ears, for your aural enjoyment!
The goal of PULSAR is to regularly bring together an eclectic mix of different, yet equally modern electronic dance music styles, into a united environment where many styles can be discovered, thrive, and be appreciated. In each edition of PULSAR, one can expect new and exciting sets from PULSAR residents; along with rotating guest DJ spots from the most promising up and coming, as well as long established DJ's in the scene.
Opening the 18th edition of Pulsar, we happily welcome ENZO MURO! Enzo last played for Pulsar at Atomic Fields 2. However, this will be his first time playing at Luxy! In a relatively short amount of time, Enzo has carved out a niche for himself as a regular host of his own show on Bamboocha Radio. His show regularly features guest mixes from around the globe, in addition to mixes from Enzo himself. Enzo plays a variety of groovy music including; HOUSE, TECHNO, TECH-HOUSE, and PROGRESSIVE HOUSE. Next up, Pulsar resident/organizer ST BLACK will take the helm. Nick will be playing us his signature blend of DEEP, PROGRESSIVE TECHNO; as any regular of Pulsar should expect! Following up Nick's spectacular sound, the other half of the Pulsar team, KAHN will take the reigns. Starting with a mix of PROGRESSIVE PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE and PSY-TECH, Kahn will gradually progress upwards into the sounds of FULL-ON PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE. As the night moves along, Pulsar is very happy to welcome SAMTABUL back to Pulsar! As the founder of the Los Angeles based music collective, NoizeMakerZ, Asi has been one of the main contributing members of southern California's psychedelic music scene for a number of years. And while maintaining a home in the underground, Asi is also commonly seen playing at clubs in Hollywood featuring DJs and artists from around the world. Taking over from where Kahn left off, Asi will keep the energy high with the sounds of FULL-ON and PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE to get the mind and the body moving in sync! Finally, as we arrive at the last set of the night, Pulsar is very happy to welcome back our friend, SCENATOR! Aumi is well known throughout the southern California psychedelic trance scene for his distinctive sounds ranging from deep psychedelic night-time sets, all the way through morning full-on, as well as progressive sounds! As a long standing resident with Psytribe, Aumi knows how to tailor his sound for the dance floor in almost any situation! As the closing set of the night, Aumi will be playing us a set of high-energy FULL-ON and PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE driving harder toward the sounds of FULL POWER PSYCHEDELIA as well!
As the hour draws later, the energy will continue to build well through closing, leaving dancers wondering when the next PULSAR will be held!

And on behalf of the PULSAR team, we would like to thank each and every person who made it out to any or all of the Pulsar events we have held so far; making all of them such unforgettable nights! These events have been filled with positive energy, love, support, amazingly friendly vibes, and have certainly bestowed a purpose on the PULSAR organizers to continue organizing these events for the sake of the dancers! You all make this possible, and we wouldn't be able to do this without your support! We do this for you, the electronic dance community!
We would also like to send a special thank you to STUBBY'S BAR for hosting Pulsar during our first year. None of us will forget all the awesome times we have had there, and the owners and staff of Stubby's bar will always have our gratitude and support.
ART/VISUALS:
At PULSAR we strive to create a fun, comfortable, energetic, and psychedelic environment for our dancers/patrons. With our limited pool of personal resources, we have a small collection of lights/black lights, wall hangings, and other miscellaneous pieces of decor. This is of course in addition to all of the sound equipment we are already bringing. We are always making an effort to enhance the visual experience of our PULSAR events, such that they only improve as time progresses. A large chunk of any donations we receive go towards Art/Visuals.
Of course we are well aware that in our community there are many artists, and others just waiting to express their hidden talents. That is why, in an effort to help the local art community, as well as to enhance the vibes of our already fantastic PULSAR events, we welcome artists professional, casual, or anything in between, who would like to contribute to the visual appeal of our events, and put their work out on display. Of course you are responsible for your artwork. I cannot guarantee the safety of your art pieces due to obvious circumstances created between dancers, beverages, and everything else. I am willing to work with you, to figure out the correct placement, or any other details to make this work better for you. In addition, if you get in touch with me far enough ahead of time, I would be glad to include your art exhibit on the flier!
And of course non-artists, if you have any pieces of decor or lighting, especially psychedelic decor that is black light reactive, such as tapestries, posters, statues, incense burners, or anything else, we would love for you to bring it to add the the collective ambiance of the room. "A PULSAR (portmanteau of pulsating star) is a highly magnetized, rotating Neutron Star that emits a beam of Electromagnetic Radiation. This radiation can only be observed when the beam of emission is pointing towards the Earth, much the way a lighthouse can only be seen when the light is pointed in the direction of an observer, and is responsible for the pulsed appearance of emission. Neutron Stars are very Dense, and have short, regular rotational periods. The precise periods of pulsars makes them useful tools. Observations of a pulsar in a binary neutron star system were used to confirm the existence of Gravitational Radiation.
