WHAT TO EXPECT:
Expect a night full of some of the world's most cutting edge electronic dance music. Your ears will be guided by some of the most dedicated professionals in the Southern California electronic music and dance scene. These individuals have been hand selected for their tireless efforts in bringing the most modern electric sounds from around the globe to the Southern California Electronic Music and Dance scene; and now to YOUR ears, for your aural enjoyment!
The goal of PULSAR is to regularly bring together an eclectic mix of different, yet equally modern electronic dance music styles, into a united environment where many styles can be discovered, thrive, and be appreciated. In each edition of PULSAR, one can expect new and exciting sets from PULSAR residents; along with rotating guest DJ spots from the most promising up and coming, as well as long established DJ's in the scene.
After taking a month off from our usual Pulsar musical flow (with the introduction of Pulsar PROGRESSIONS), we are back with a full spectrum lineup of music. Starting the night, Pulsar resident/organizer ST BLACK will build the energy, PROGRESSING through TECHIE GROOVES with DEEP TRANCEY overtones. Next up, we are happy to welcome WIRDOWE, a resident, and one of the founding members of UNDERGROUND SOUND, LA. Glen is well known for his throughout the Southern California underground for his ability to get a crowd moving no matter what time he plays. Glen will glide the energy along with driving high energy BREAKBEAT set. Taking the reigns from Glen, Pulsar resident/organizer KAHN will build and reforge the night's energy, smoothly transitioning into PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE, and FULL-ON grooves! Next up on the decks, we are excited to welcome SAMTABUL for the very first time at a Pulsar event. Asi is well known throughout the California PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE music scene, as well as Hollywood clubs. Originally from Haifa Israel, the birth place of many great TRANCE acts, Asi was practically surrounded with this music as he grew up. He grew up along side many individuals who went on to become greats in the global psychedelic music scene. When Asi relocated to Los Angeles he quickly became influential in many scenes, and has a deep connection with the Israeli community in Los Angeles. He is resident and founder of NOIZEMAKERZ, LA. Asi will keep the energy going with his signature blend of PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE and FULL-ON! As the night progresses, we will finally reach the last DJ of the night. Pulsar is happy to welcome back WICHDOKTA, all the way from Ukiah, CA, for his second appearance at a Pulsar event! Rich last joined us this past February, at Pulsar V.7. We are lucky, and humbled to have the legend join us again. Rich is of course well known as one of the pioneers in the Northern California psychedelic trance music scene. He started DJing in 1996, and formed the FULL CIRCLE COLLECTIVE. In 1997 he began organizing his famous yearly gathering, GEMINI Festival along the majestic Eel River! Over the years, GEMINI touched thousands of trance fans worldwide, and brought many DJ's and producers from all over the United States, as well as international acts. In 2000, Rich met up with Dr. Spook (founder of record label Geomagnetic.tv), and they formed the PHOENIX FAMILY COLLECTIVE. Rich is well known and loved throughout the Northern California trance community for his twisted DJ sets, life changing gatherings, and his highly demanded sound company (Full Circle Productions). Rich will be playing his signature TWISTED and DARKER PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE to keep the trancers happy!!! The energy will continue to build well through closing, leaving dancers wondering when the next PULSAR will be held!
So we hope you will join us for PULSAR V.13! You will be TRULY happy that you did!
And on behalf of the PULSAR team, we would like to thank each and every person who made it out to any or all of the Pulsar events we have held so far; making all of them such unforgettable nights! These events have been filled with positive energy, love, support, amazingly friendly vibes, and have certainly bestowed a purpose on the PULSAR organizers to continue organizing these events for the sake of the dancers! You all make this possible, and we wouldn't be able to do this without your support! We do this for you, the electronic dance community!
We would also like to send a special thank you to STUBBY'S BAR for hosting Pulsar during our first year. None of us will forget all the awesome times we have had there, and the owners and staff of Stubby's bar will always have our gratitude and support. As time progresses, new opportunities present themselves. We now have the opportunity to try a new venue. This Pulsar will be held at a new location nearby to Stubby's, but a bit closer to Los Angeles. This will be a trial run for the new location, and of course we welcome feedback from all attendees and organizers alike!
ART/VISUALS:
At PULSAR we strive to create a fun, comfortable, energetic, and psychedelic environment for our dancers/patrons. With our limited pool of personal resources, we have a small collection of lights/black lights, wall hangings, and other miscellaneous pieces of decor. This is of course in addition to all of the sound equipment we are already bringing. We are always making an effort to enhance the visual experience of our PULSAR events, such that they only improve as time progresses. A large chunk of any donations we receive go towards Art/Visuals.
Of course we are well aware that in our community there are many artists, and others just waiting to express their hidden talents. That is why, in an effort to help the local art community, as well as to enhance the vibes of our already fantastic PULSAR events, we welcome artists professional, casual, or anything in between, who would like to contribute to the visual appeal of our events, and put their work out on display. Of course you are responsible for your artwork. I cannot guarantee the safety of your art pieces due to obvious circumstances created between dancers, beverages, and everything else. I am willing to work with you, to figure out the correct placement, or any other details to make this work better for you. In addition, if you get in touch with me far enough ahead of time, I would be glad to include your art exhibit on the flier!
And of course non-artists, if you have any pieces of decor or lighting, especially psychedelic decor that is black light reactive, such as tapestries, posters, statues, incense burners, or anything else, we would love for you to bring it to add the the collective ambiance of the room. Exit Fullerton Rd. off of CA-60. From 60 East make a LEFT onto Fullerton Rd. From 60 West, make a RIGHT onto Fullerton Rd. Once you are on Fullerton Rd., make the first LEFT past the freeway onto E. Gale Ave.. Make a RIGHT on Plaza to enter "The Plaza" shopping center. Go left once you are in the shopping center and follow the shops along until you see "Luxy 101." It is right next to Office Max.
