WHAT TO EXPECT:
Expect a night full of some of the world's most cutting edge electronic dance music. Your ears will be guided by some of the most dedicated professionals in the Southern California electronic music and dance scene. These individuals have been hand selected for their tireless efforts in bringing the most modern electric sounds from around the globe to the Southern California Electronic Music and Dance scene; and now to YOUR ears, for your aural enjoyment!
The goal of PULSAR is to regularly bring together an eclectic mix of different, yet equally modern electronic dance music styles, into a united environment where many styles can be discovered, thrive, and be appreciated. In each edition of PULSAR, one can expect new and exciting sets from PULSAR residents; along with rotating guest DJ spots from the most promising up and coming, as well as long established DJ's in the scene.
To begin the night, Pulsar is happy to welcome OTHERVIBE for his 2nd US appearance! This will be Josef's first time playing on a Pulsar lineup. However, regulars of our gatherings are sure to recognize Josef as one of the most passionate members of the Pulsar dance floor, and a mainstay at almost every gathering we've organized. Bringing his natural positive ambiance straight from the dance floor to behind the DJ booth, Josef will open the night with a smooth and uplifting set of PROGRESSIVE TECHNO with hints of TRANCE, HOUSE, and a fusion of other genres. Next up, Pulsar resident/organizer ST BLACK will take the torch. Nick will bring us in deeper with his signature blend of SERIOUS DARK PROGRESSIVE TECHNO and TRANCE. As the night grooves along, Pulsar resident/organizer KAHN will step up to the decks. Steven will take us on a journey starting with PROGRESSIVE, TECHNO, and PROGRESSIVE PSYTRANCE, moving upwards into the sounds of PROGRESSIVE FULL-ON and FULL-ON PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE. As the energy level rises, Pulsar is happy to welcome SOULKLIPSE, all the way from San Salvador, El Salvador for his very first US appearance! Edwin has been moving dance floors all around South America for the past five years with his unique original productions; combining FULL-POWER HYPNOTIC basslines with HAUNTING and DARK, and NIGHT oriented melodies. The result is something unique, and it is our pleasure to bring Edwin's unique sound to a brand new audience here in Southern California! To follow up this very exciting live act is a man who should need no introduction to the California Psychedelic Trance music scene, ARAHAT! We are very excited to be welcoming back Tom for his second appearance at Pulsar. Tom is well known throughout the community as one of the founders of PsyCircle, the legendary Psychedelic music collective based out of San Diego, CA. Tom is also well known, and respected internationally as an accomplished PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE producer with music released on several compilation albums. On this night Tom will keep the energy flowing upwards with his well known sound of FUNKY, TWISTED, & GROOVY, NIGHT oriented, FULL-POWER PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE. The energy will continue to build well through closing, leaving dancers wondering when the next PULSAR will be held!
So we hope you will join us for PULSAR V.14! You will be TRULY happy that you did!
And on behalf of the PULSAR team, we would like to thank each and every person who made it out to any or all of the Pulsar events we have held so far; making all of them such unforgettable nights! These events have been filled with positive energy, love, support, amazingly friendly vibes, and have certainly bestowed a purpose on the PULSAR organizers to continue organizing these events for the sake of the dancers! You all make this possible, and we wouldn't be able to do this without your support! We do this for you, the electronic dance community!
We would also like to send a special thank you to STUBBY'S BAR for hosting Pulsar during our first year. None of us will forget all the awesome times we have had there, and the owners and staff of Stubby's bar will always have our gratitude and support. As time progresses, new opportunities present themselves. We now have the opportunity to try a new venue. This Pulsar will be held at a new location nearby to Stubby's, but a bit closer to Los Angeles. This will be a trial run for the new location, and of course we welcome feedback from all attendees and organizers alike!
ART/VISUALS:
At PULSAR we strive to create a fun, comfortable, energetic, and psychedelic environment for our dancers/patrons. With our limited pool of personal resources, we have a small collection of lights/black lights, wall hangings, and other miscellaneous pieces of decor. This is of course in addition to all of the sound equipment we are already bringing. We are always making an effort to enhance the visual experience of our PULSAR events, such that they only improve as time progresses. A large chunk of any donations we receive go towards Art/Visuals.
Of course we are well aware that in our community there are many artists, and others just waiting to express their hidden talents. That is why, in an effort to help the local art community, as well as to enhance the vibes of our already fantastic PULSAR events, we welcome artists professional, casual, or anything in between, who would like to contribute to the visual appeal of our events, and put their work out on display. Of course you are responsible for your artwork. I cannot guarantee the safety of your art pieces due to obvious circumstances created between dancers, beverages, and everything else. I am willing to work with you, to figure out the correct placement, or any other details to make this work better for you. In addition, if you get in touch with me far enough ahead of time, I would be glad to include your art exhibit on the flier!
And of course non-artists, if you have any pieces of decor or lighting, especially psychedelic decor that is black light reactive, such as tapestries, posters, statues, incense burners, or anything else, we would love for you to bring it to add the the collective ambiance of the room. Exit Fullerton Rd. off of CA-60. From 60 East make a LEFT onto Fullerton Rd. From 60 West, make a RIGHT onto Fullerton Rd. Once you are on Fullerton Rd., make the first LEFT past the freeway onto E. Gale Ave.. Make a RIGHT on Plaza to enter "The Plaza" shopping center. Go left once you are in the shopping center and follow the shops along until you see "Luxy 101." It is right next to Office Max.
