im not reviewing the album here, but i must answer AJE,same as i answered his gay alter ego on Psynews's forum:
Obviously, its very easy to be dissapointed after STRANGE ATTRACTORS - i don't really know many artist who released a "milestone" album, and duplicated this with their next one. it's just not so easy.
From a DJ point of view,i can just say that u better buy some earplugs, because this album is going to be played TO DEATH in this season's open airs
Full-on,flat,boring or whatever u wanna call it - after playing most of this album in a few parties,i can testify Freq still is the dancefloor king when it comes to progressive psytrance.
Some of these tracks brought VERY big smiles to many many people around europe already, and the main example being track 6- beatstreet, which i really dont think copies Dnox and beckers - i beleive u refer to the Arrpegiated synthline in the break, and on this the latters sure dont have a copyright .Been done before them and will be done after them.
This track really causes a (good) mess on the dancefloor, quite distinctivley more than whatever was played before and after.
It doesnt mean its good - but u just cannot decide with your own taste, what track the world needs or not.
Also, the only clear full-on elements in this album ,are notable on track 5 which is simply faster than the rest of the album.
So,i can surely understand the let-down after FREq's previous efforts .
i also prefer the style of timeless classics such as SHORT LIFE,RETURN ETC ETC,but nevertheless -
Don't forget this is still DANCEFLOOR MUSIC wer'e talking about....
And on that account,i must say,the man has done a damm fine job |

why would anyone ruin a great track with cheeeeeesy samples from "the rocksteady crew"?????
I cant take this track serious! the first 4:30 is great but then the singing begins
Release the damn thing in a instrumental version!
  - The yeti loves to drink shnaps too, so he's like a real shaman... he, uhm, uh, if you want to contact him, you have to put some alcoholic offerings in front of the forest. |

comparing to their debut album it's not that trancy
I like trancy but the level of psychedelic is imo much higher in this one,
and I like it a lot,
its like the opposite of antix,
first antix was very psychedelic
second antix was more trancy smooth melodic
freq is the other way and I experience it as very good,
only that track 'from the rocksteady blabla is awful sorry,
I love all influences in concept psy this tracks doens't score at all sorry...
the first one with the same samples of the movie equilibrium where astrix made his best track imo called chaos (with highguy i think) is very very good...
nice way to start the journey,
freq createas again a typical touch of his own what seperates him from other artist and those are the albums who stay imo
keep up the good work
and very curious for freq 3,
I think we can expect some more good vibes from this artist(s)...
thanx, it's so good for homelistening or listening on my mp3 player when I walk in town...
it keeps me busy and doesn't get bored...

With all due respect, are you on crack?
Well, I suppose one man's soul is another man's Backstreet Boys.
I found tremendous depth and soul in this release. Not from the sounds per se (he does overuse Vanguard style arpeggiators for sure), but the overall note placement and arrangement is very uplifting.
You can't move the dancefloor truly without soul, and this has got it.

Bought this a couple of weeks before my vacation, and brought it with me on my mp3-player for my 2 weeks in Italy. I still can't decide if I really like it or not.
"Stone Shaker" seems to be the track everyone is talking about, and it's surely a track you either love or hate. Yes, the vocals are cheesy and yes, it's probably the closest FREq has ever been too generic full on, but I actually find it highly amusing and one of the strongest tracks on the album. I know why some people won't like it though. "Beatstreet" features that pseudo-electro groove EVERYONE seems to be doing at the moment, and quite frankly I absolutely hated this track the first time I heard it, but it has kindda grown on me.
Like someone already said, "Space Noodle" is a weak version of the track released on Iono earlier this year, and I was also disappointed with the new version of Nyquists "Singularity". Not because it's bad (on the contrary), but because it's just too fucking short.
I won't get into details with the rest of the tracks, just say that this album will have nowhere near the impact "Strange Attractors" had when it was released. To me it's a somewhat uninspiring as an album, but at the end of the day it's undoubtedly some of the most potent progressive psytrance dancefloor music you can find on the market today, and therefore it's surely one of the most important releases this year. At least for progressive DJ's.
Oh and I pretty much agree with aje with his comment about FREq's slower stuff being noticeably better. Check out his first "psy" releases "Monochrome" and "Wasp" released some years ago, and also his remix for Antix released this winter. Deep and very atmospheric housey tunes.
