you can do this for free online...on whichever os you want
just go to:
http://vixy.net/
paste your youtube URL, select mp3 from the drop down menu & go nuts
if you really want to download a software...you can get audacity...it records anything your system can play, it has a mac version...& it's free too
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
have fun
i can explain it to you...but i cannot understand it for you... |

Macs have no ability to record streaming as it plays on the built-in sound device. It is possible to record streaming audio from the built-in microphone, but this a very lossy method that also picks up all ambient noise.
So... I think the only way to do this is joining the line-out and line-in ports on the computer with an audio cable :/ |

audio hijack (not free), but demo with 8 minute limitation
soundflower - can reroute output channel to input/recording channel on DAW software (free)
jack OSX - a little old and clumsy, but still works and also free
i'd go for audio hijack for simplicity's sake, you can still get good clips as long as you dont go over 8 minutes, or close & reopen
Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!

what i do since my macbook pro can't record directly from output within it's audio processor.
i use a simple tool and audacity.
go to radioshack or whatever electronics hardware store and get a two way stereo plug and the get a stereo splitter.
hook that up and plug in your speakers to it too and you can hear what your recording, just make sure it's set to record from input. this way you can record directly from output to input through a wire. cheap and simple.
audacity has a good way of encoding in wave, aiff, and what not. look into codecs that you can install for it.
open-source software rules! |

i use audio hijack, not free, but going nutzZ
records any source in many formats, lossless, own settings etc. just love it, so many things i record that way.
worth to check out imo, if you know what to record, demo should be fine.... anyways, audacity is also nice, use it quite often, just not to record applications. maybe should try
cheers
