Does anyone know how to set this up?

This plug intrigued me as I always hear people going on about sidechain on the kick and bass. I never bother cause everything fits nicely when I make my bottom end but I've been told if you make things overlap slightly the whole thing sounds more together.

That made sense so I thought I'd try this thing out.

Now call me pathetic for not being able to work out some freeware thing... but this really confuses me. I know about sidechaining and what it entails, but after a good fiddle with this I'm really starting to question myself. So far I've found 4 settings. They are No kick, no bass, muddy kick, grimey bass. Not what I had in mind.

Any pointings of the correct direction will be greatly appreciated.

Put one instance of Twisted Lemon on the kick and one on the bass. The Kick track is set to key, the bass is set to duck. Click the Alpha symbol for both. Now adjust the attack for a fast setting in the kick. Then go to the bass and adjust the threshold. You should see the graphic response of the bass ducking in the bass channel.

If you still can't get it to work then take two aspirins & call me in the morning

P.S. If you don't put a bass note at the same time as the kick & the kick isn't so long that it overlaps with your first bass note then its not really necessary to sidechain..Unless you wanna go for that 'sidechaining' sound..          http://www.soundcloud.com/getafixmusic

i was using this one too but now i find it better to use automation insteed of sidechaining ,with sample acurate automation it s easier to set up.

Thanks a whole bunch. I was routing the virtual channel using the random letter that came up on one of the... things.

Now to start experimenting
