that's one of cubase's major flaw, if we can call it a flaw.

i often route the signal out of my soundcard then reroute it in, then record. or you can render the part (you have a little option in the dialog box which inserts the rendered part in a new audio track).           Psy stuff : myspace.com/neyaprod

yer thats awful man..grrr

well think i have to render, don`t want too much conversion at all..even i want this just to chop up my audio..so rendering that specific short part is not that much of a hassle..will go for it, but thought there might be some smart routing trick..

i thought about just to send it to a sidechain in that audio track but seems not to work..

thanks anyway

I dunno if it is what you're looking for, but I route groups to other groups, sometimes you wouldn't be able to do it to the groups you created earlier than the ones you are trying to route the out from. Sounds complicated
Actually, i do that in SX3

Sorry, I just noticed... Try creating another group and then route to it          Monitoring devices, know where you go

Actually what you need to do in Cubase 4 is route your track you want to record to a group track. Then you route the group track to an audio track. Hit record on the audio track it will record the audio live as the song is playing. You can do loop recording just like if you're recording from an external source.

This is only a feature of the new Cubase 4 so it wont work in SX3

Cheers, hope it helps

f*ck yeah ! i didn't notice that
by this way you can avoid the double A/D conversion of external routing : ))
