does anybody know what is a free oscillator?i find this in many synths albino3,zebra etc..

this has to do with the phase of the underlying wave. when the oscillator is in free-running mode, all the notes being played will start in whatever position the wave happens to be at the moment. when this mode is off, every new note will play from the same spot (0 or maybe on some you can specify this). |

Free oscilators are oscilators who has said to the synth that we dont want to be apart of you and your stupid ideas, so they went out to the forest and are free to make their own sounds, they hang around with birds and hunt new waveforms in the woods.. now they are free and happy!
i say! save the free oscilators from extinction!
