First off, check out the cover I made for this mix:
http://www.ektoplazm.com/img/mix/basilisk-replicant_redux-1_s.jpg

Now for the description:

Consider this mix a tribute to the dark futuristic mood of tech noir, an artistic style of literature and film best known from the movie Blade Runner. Once again, this is the product of many months of track selection and conceptual germination. The flow of the set is programmed like a descent, from the synthetic progressive grooves that nonchalantly begin the tale, through increasingly mechanical techtrance sounds, into the deepest realms of richly cinematic psychedelic techno. A trio of increasingly atmospheric tracks lead the mix to a thoughtful conclusion.

Tracklist:

01 :: Nyquist - Flatline [Plusquam]
02 :: Sativa - Clean Machine [B.P.F.]
03 :: La Baaz - Scrool [Sub.machine]
04 :: Lunaspice - Melodeep [Cold Groove]
05 :: Phony Orphants - Global Wonderground (Llopis Remix) [Iboga]
06 :: Tetraktys - Migration [Sub.machine]
07 :: Spirallianz - Bitnapped [Spirit Zone]
08 :: Ticon - We Are the Mammoth Hunters (BLT Remix) [Hom-Mega]
09 :: Sensient - Sublime [Groove Zone]
10 :: Tetraktys - Quiet [Aeon]
11 :: Opsis - Just Like Breathing [Headstick]
12 :: X-Dream - Psychomachine (Midi Miliz Remix) [Moonflower]
13 :: Juno Reactor - Mutant Message [Metropolis]
14 :: Kiwa - Lahti Skyline [Surreal Audio]
15 :: Vangelis - Damask Rose [Warner]

Size: 142 megs / Quality: 256k MP3

I distribute my mixes with Bittorrent ( http://www.bittorrent.com/ ) which will require that you have a small client installed. Check the link if you don't have it - installation is real easy.

I'm giving these threads a one-time bump - I know torrents aren't the easiest way to grab a mix, but these are worth it

Heya Basilisk,

Cool cover!

I would like to hear it and play on psy trance radio (http://www.triplag.com)
If you do not object:
Any chance you can encode it to 128kbps and drop me a link?
(If you can't encode just link to MP3 will do fine)

Hey there... I have no problem with radio play of this mix (it's already getting a bunch actually!) but I have no 128k link... it's in 256k quality so everything sounds nice and crisp
peace.

Good mix with a great collection of cold and darkish progressive/tech tunes - and I must say I really like the flow. Mixing is quite good, but being nitpicky I must say it's slightly offbeat a few times (probably not something the majority of a dancefloor would notice though). Very good work overall

Excellent cover by the way - did you make it yourself?

Thanks for the response... the cover is indeed my own work (including photography). I think I'll be tweaking it a bit more before printing up a bunch of copies, since this mix has received plenty of praise out here where I'm at!

There are indeed a few seconds that those of us with expert ears will pick up, but no one else is going to be the wiser the focus of the mix is the flow and the storytelling, so I found those minor items excusable when I arrived at this take.

@basilisk

Thanks for the info - I was trying to download replicant redux earlier but I had no luck.

Looking forward to giving it a listen, seems like you put a lot of thought into it

Best Wishes

Finally found the time and oportunity to listen to the set.

I was very taken with the flow, and I enjoyed the track selection - Certainly fellt the Blade Runner theme during the set - Loved the outro.
Sound quality, fades etc where also nice

There were some double beats along the way, just slightly annoying.

Now I just have to find time to listen to the other Basilisk sets

Thanks for the set Mr Basilisk, keep up the good work

Best Wishes.
