No shit. I first read about BionicFX about three years ago and they were already busy with it for a while ...
As for ATI support, the chips don't allow to do what the nvidea chips allow. I'm out of luck...

Reminds me of the UAD-1 dsp card; i think that one uses a chip originally intended for graphic use as well.

Well they are talking about PCI Express video cards so I think we can assume that the project is still going. It just might take a while before the public can use it.

The UAD-1 card uses a programmable (graphics)chip. I don't know if that is the case with the nvidea chips.
The problem with the UAD-1 card is that the chip it is based on isn't being developed anymore. It is still being produced but no newer versions will ever appear. It was very expensive to develope for the manufacturer and nearly bankrupted them. (I can't remember the name of the company or chip).
That is probably why we havn't seen a UAD-2 yet. I hope Universal Audio manage to port their stuff to another platform or find a way to use several of those chips on the same card.
