oh my .....
i'm following this topic in the last days, and realy , all this prose is useless ...
the section was quiet well manage until today .... and not even so "strict" , the rules where followed with a big flexibility IMO
only because bodhisatva add an unfortunate first post on http://forum.isratrance.com/4-soevnigt-sind-albums-for-free/
the balagan start ....
comon B.A. , please, give it a rest ... you are quiet boring .... no more fan of the trance section ?
many releases with no green/blue status where accepted in the last year , so what this is all about ?

It's about bringing some fairness into this forum as I see people like bodhisatva (and probably a few more) wanting to restrict artists like Sovning Sind or myself to promote our music (read: ALBUMS) side by side with the "approved" artists. And apparently at the moment he is backed up by Shahar who clearly spelled out the rules but seem open-minded to talk about a change (Correct me if I am wrong).
My intention with this debate was to see if it can be changed so we who release our albums for free can have a official approval to promote our albums side by side with you guys here in the Ambient and Chillout forum. So we do not end up in the situation where our promotion is removed in the case a mod start to follow the rules or dear bodhisatva contact them to tell them to remove our posts
It's evident that a public debate is always better than one person trying to change things. I know many here agree with my point and I wait for them to speak their minds too so hopefully Shahar will see we do think there is a unfair division in who are allowed to promote their music and not and that it's not such a bad thing to change the rule a little.
After all just because an artist got a Blue status does not mean the artist is a better artist. It only mean the artist contacted the mods to get the Blue status.
You might find me "boring" and the debate useless. I don't! C'est la vie
P.S.
And a side note to the mods. Try and go through the posts in "Listen to my music and/or download it thread- all related post here please!!!". There are a whole lot of non downtempo/chillout music posted there. Such as Goa, Full-on, Progressive etc. Sorry not a place (a serious album would drown there in no time)) I want to promote my future albums. www.beatagency.dk |

I think Moreno is right. Until a few days ago everything was bubbling along quite nicely.
Certainly if someone thinks a full album (free or not) is worthy of its own thread then why not? I suppose this is better illustrated when it is an objective person starting the thread (i.e. not the label or the artist themselves). But that said, I'd rather a label or artist tell me about an upcoming album than no-one mention it and I never get to hear about it.
I suppose the question should be: Is this release worthy of discussion in its own right?
And sometimes the answer will be yes, sometimes no (and I don't mean that in a bad way). |

Nice and obviously I agree
But not really what this debate is about. It can be boiled down really easy.
Are the non Blue/Green members with free album releases allowed to do promotion side by side with the Blue/Green members in the Ambient and Chillout forum? Yes or no? Probably best answered by Shahar since I think the 1st answer was a little vague
Sorry for disturbing the peace. One could stay out of a debate one does not like and then no peace is broken

Well, I tend to agree with Moreno too. Everything works very well here in this section apart from this argument. So let's get on with things.

I for one is not arguing. I am debating and really think it would be cool with a straight forward answer

I personally can't see any major problem with the way things are. Much better to have guidelines and suggestions, a muckling along, than rules and regulations imho.
Sure it isn't black or white, but neither is life, and the inbuilt "lee-way" the mods and forumers show I thnk is a sign of maturity and intelligence.
