Bombay Beatbox presents: the pre RESONATE event:
FREAKY MASALA@Hothouse w/Janaka Selekta and David Starfire.
Janaka Selekta (San Francisco)
The San Francisco Bay Area urban electronica community spoke loudly and clearly when it declared Dhaamal SF co-founder Janaka Selekta 'Best DJ' in a recent SF Guardian reader's poll. Janaka brings a dancer's sensibility to the decks, by deconstructing each track, and merging and beat juggling parts to build crescendos and diminuendos. Janaka is renowned for his deft touch while constantly working the tracks and mixer to blow up dancefloors across the U.S., Asia, and Europe. His unique sound combines original songs and homemade bootlegs with
floor-stomping tracks from around the planet. Janaka's breakbeat tune, 'Bol Breaker,' broke BBC Radio 1's Bobby and Nihal's Top 10 and the Dhamaal Soundsystem CD hit the iTunes Top 20 Electronic Music Chart.
