1. VIRTUART KALKI 7.10 144BPM
2. SHIFT OPTICAL DELUSION 8.01 145BPM
3. STRALIA TRANSDUCER 9.44 150BPM
4. PSYSIDE TRUE POWER 8.16 150BPM
5. SIENIS SNAKES 'n' SPARKLERS 7.43 146BPM
6. NOMAD PARTY TIME 7.59 147BPM
7. MR PECULIAR PROPHECY 7.16 144BPM
8. ATOMIC PULSE 360 DEGREES 7.58 145BPM
9. MASTERMIND EXCALIBUR 9.55 146BPM

...Great... This popped through the door yesterday !.. ......

With the lowest BPM thumping in at 144.... this is without doubt one for the night time 'freaks' ...... in their 'frenzies'..... and with 9 tracks coming from 7 different countries.. this is also a truly 'International' compilation.

Kicking off this compilation is KALKI by VIRTUART.... with its slow building intro... the direction of the track isn't quite clear and could go anywhere until about 2 min in ...then... splotch...running distort. riffs and twilight undertones lead you away from any doubt that this compilation is going to be 'FULL ON'..
..OPTICAL DELUSION by SHIFT notches the pace up a gear (and we're only on track 2 people..!!).....with his own sense of 'timing' and 'delivery'.. things seem to be rolling along all by themselves.... 4 min in and here comes those SHIFTy- Scratchy metalic pads and fat bottom lines...you know its SHIFT without
having to check the sleeve...! TRANSDUCER by STRALIA (a new artist for me).. racing in at 150BPM ( a range I dont often stray into) ...just takes off from its outset.. placed well between SHIFT & PSYSIDE.. this track is for me the most curious... such a high BPM and full on squelch.. but it never feels 'too much'......
TRUE POWER by PSYSIDE maintains the 'high velocity' of the middle of this compilation... with a more 'melodic' approach than TRANSDUCER while maintaining the same 'momentum'.... SNAKES n SPARKLERS by SIENIS drops you back down a notch or two..... deeper...some subtle light percussive work and a slighty comical feel in its second section...a quick breath of air ....and the uplifting Bassline of PARTY TIME by NOMAD comes bouncing along out of nowhere to give you a sense of.....yup, here we go again....Good, clean & warm production highlights this track all the way to its conclusion.... the empasis in the last section changes from the 'clean percussive funky' to a 'deeper, more thoughtful- psychedelic groove'.. (some beautiful 'Bassline' changes and wicked Bass grooves). PROPHECY by MR PECULIAR dispenses with the 'FuNk' and just goes straight for the 'throat' ...Full on and with a BASSGROOOVE that big... this track quite simpily has the 'BIGGEST BALLS' on the Album ...it's an outdoor 'dawn' stomper..no doubt about it.... barefoot and muddy with the skies turning lighter.... its all me 360 DEGREES by ATOMIC PULSE warms up to a feeling of real anticipation ("the suns coming... the suns coming")..and evethough on BPM its a faster track than PROPHECY.. its arrangement, huge warm production and soundscape gives the feeling of a 'slowing down'...(for the mind maybe.. while the legs are still stomping on ).... EXACLIBUR by MASTERMIND... knowing that 'your legs are still stomping'... comes slaming back with tight crisp 'native' percussions and a thin, Bass driven melody that just keeps the momentum flowing forward.... 'the sun is up... but thats no reason to stop
now'... is the feeling... while the slighty 'menacing' samples gives even its 'lightest' moments an appreciated 'edge'...... it gets a bit 'Jean Michelle Jarre on ecstacy' at the end there... but doesnt go the whole way.

Ending on a higher BPM to where it started and going right up there in the middle.... this compilation makes no secret about its 'Intentions', ' why it was made' and 'When It Wants To Be Played' .... before sunrise... for the 'freaks'... to make them 'frenzied'.... It is an excellent debut compilation..... offering a truly
'International' variety of artisits and sounds... I think it represents the 'Global FACE' of Trance music very well. My favourites tracks are SHIFT, STRALIA & NOMAD...... but the BEST track for me is..... 7. PROPHECY by MR PECULIAR....fantastic..wundebar..belissimo...subarashii...(I am going to Oz next week for the Eclipse and cant wait to see this dude play ... oh shit..!!

imo the best tracks are by far atomic pulse & mr peculiar.......
and i think virtuart 's track has a really really bad production, and really lacks of interesting ideas...

well, i like virtuart's track, it's a qute one
the rest of the music, especially sienis, psyside's and shift's tracks are just amazing!
excelent compilation and the best thing about it is that it is not the very common full-on sound(i mean gms, alien p. or astrix...) but it's very psychadelic, trippy with some oldschool ideas(which is veryy good imo)
9/10           Why u little !!!

i globably appreciate this compilation, very energic, powerfull, psychedelic and fast.

The presence of names like Mr Peculiar,Shift,Virtuart,Stralia,Sienis,Psyside which aren't the usual names names apearing on every tracklist is the real "plus" of the compil.

Furthermore some of them are very talentuous or quite rare to find
(Virtuart ,Mr Pelicular & Shift especially).

Highlights by order:7,6

other nice moments by order:1,4,9

There are just Atomic Pulse & Sienis that i don't really dig into, the first mainly too flat & diesel morning stuff (but like the others Atomic productions), for the second just too linear.

mark:7,5/10

Nice debut compilation from my friends in Procyon Records.
My favorite tracks are the Shift and Atomic Pulse tunes and i much enjoyed the Masterminds track though i dont much fancy its vocals.Nomad track is very average for me but Psyside can do miracles on the dancefloor and the Stralia track has an amazing old fashioned uplifting melody that i much enjoyed. The rest i found average and i didnt liked just the Virtuart track which is just too dark for me.
Keep in up guys and good luck in the future.

P.S Amazing cover and art work from danger           Toodaloo Motherfuckers!!!!!
