I don’t know a lot about this project, but I know they are from Serbia and I loved, absolutely loved their track Emoticon on the V/A Exotica. This album is hyped as being creative and uplifting full-on but it doesn’t say anything at all about cheese. So hopefully, if promotion is to be believed (stop it) there won’t be any. Now if you go by the Discogs database and see what Noga has put out, you might want to walk the other way. But not me. I’m too lazy to walk. Let’s get to it!

Say- Anyone else think of that Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney track? Anyone? Bah, that was the jam back in the day. When Michael was normal. And black. And…human. Space age chimes ring overhead before a short string riff (I Iike that) brings us to tha bass. The break has a far away lead that closes in and then another synth takes the lead. At the next break, there is a house like bass that swarms from underneath, sounds cool. The synth at the end is melodic and brings the chimes back into play. Very good track!

Light Beams- You know we have a restaurant here in NC called “High Beams?” I will give you 3 guesses what part of the female anatomy they play off of. Nimble leads swirl above a deep bass and I feel funky. The break has a very short guitar riff and then the bass takes a real funky turn and it got me twisting. This is another good pumping bit of psytrance. Great track!

Elevation (with Alternative Control)- An ominous piano melody sets the spooky tone as a bass line churns underneath. Short synth stabs delicately tap your ears and then a thunderous bass line kicks you right in the pills. Man I love what they do at the break with the slowly evolving bass and the break beat! The track finishes up almost as it began with the piano chiming in the distance. Awesome track!

Against the Machines- Losing battle these days buddy. A soft, chopped up voice sadly wails quietly as the bass hammers on. The leads switch up and create a pretty good groove. When the final lead comes out to play, my head is bobbing. Good track!

FF Syndrome- If I had one gripe it would be the title of the album. It is either mind numbingly simple or they think they are ushering in a new era of psytrance. Well, I vote for the latter, because so far the tracks have been great. There is that wind instrument that cries, cries Middle Eastern vibe! I love that! High pitched piano tones dance above the growing beat allowing the bass line to move at it’s own pace. The synths rise to the break and the bass line changes forcing you to take notice. Funky! The piano melody atop the gurgling bass is super catchy! All I can think of is Saiko Sounds line “Life is too short for boring music.” They are right. Super track!

Saw- I’m going into this thinking I’m going to hear a bunch of samples from the movie. Wrong. A beautiful guitar melody resonates above the meandering bass line. This one track seems of a lower volume and I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the tones used. Ripples and drags, that’s how I would describe the bass here. The break at 4’19” sounds so smooth with a filtered lead growing in intensity. And then it hits me: saw is the wave of the bass. Very good track!

Night Mode- Crawling from the silent depths is a heavy bass and kick. And again, the nervous, unsure of where you are, slightly frightened feeling is present. It has been through all the tracks. And brother I like it. The synths twist and twirl about each other as the beginning tones sound off from a very far away place. When it all comes together, we have a heavy danceable track. Great track!

Dreamer- The guitar here makes me feel like I am in the afternoon desert. Growly bass roars at me as a soft wind instrument flutters beneath quick tones. This is what I am talking about. So much to focus on! Yum-Yum! The synths are frenzied as they attempt to keep up with the swaying bass. This one has so much and yet still brings the power. Another very good track!

The Flow- Damnit, Phil Spector jury is deadlocked. Mistrial! Celebrities…what a waste. I would love to kick them all in the nuts. Teeth for the females. Anyway, this track seems slower with strings searing in and out. The mood is still intense, almost manic. The bass wobbles, the synths are sharp, and the guitar is the best part for me. It just fits. Good track.

Landing- Ahhhh, I can feel the waves tickling my toes. The bass line struts with the confidence of a gangster, like when someone knows something you don’t. The popcorn like lead pops along above a smooth guitar. The break makes me tip my hat, as the sun dips ever lower. These guys are great at interposing guitar melody in their tracks. Flawless!

Summary: I wasn’t sure what I was going to get with this release. Some may say this is boring full-on, even commercial trance, but I disagree. It is very melodic and also very powerful. Everything sounds very…epic. The melodies aren’t uplifting but rather the opposite. It has that Paul Van Dyk feel but the difference here is that the tracks continue to change and never flirt with the housey genre. Make no mistake however…this is dance music. I think this is just as involved and deep as the brilliant Mr Peculiar album, (which I reviewed). It is outstandingly produced good work. The ear is never bored with plenty of sounds and rhythms to focus on. This is the same way I felt when I first heard Lamat’s Master Control album. And that is high praise. Great job boys on an instant classic. 9.5/10
