hmmm sometimes we get arrested in our minds about the meaning of some words......for me sarcasm is not bad its just a way to expression like any other, worst to the people who can`t deal with that....by coincidence its the name of my first project ever(hardcore/crossover)when i was 13...
sometimes people tend to make confusion between honesty and arrogance.....................................................i admit i was nervous the other day but i still think that things and more and more after you still put my phrases above but you didnt answer me.... have you got mp3 cds?have you ever had original software and payed to the people you sample?ever?have you copied cds?i have a lot but i have like 5000 originals and not only trance or ambient.
have you ever been payed in a party where you were playing copied cds? just to inform that some of the artists you usually divinize in this forum did and continue to do that without permission or even knowing of the others.you know about that jerk who sold an album from pete namlook in e-bay for 200 dollars?still waiting for a reasonable answer.....you agree with that "artists"that travel a lot being payed to play all the same boring psydummient hits?fuck the other day i saw two well respected djs in the world and you know what ?they were playing that hallucinottenogeniculmanoid alien projected logic bomb ass hits from 4 or 5 years ago and the cds were jumping and with terrible sound.... do you feel this is fair to us that payed 20 euros to see something special?fuck i prefer millions of times people like franco funghi at least he plays really unexpected ambient music and just one more thing if you listen franco on hrb1 you are not able to distinguish your own productions?damn ridiculous.yeah sometimes reality is different than it seems and i am really surprised that people who advogate trance and freedom and new perceptions of reality are more seeming like babiloniacs and money desperates THIRD DIMENSION PRISIONERS.....nothing to do with this but you know that copyriot thing?its called also copyleft attitude take a look on the net about this...for me people really would be payed for their imagination and love attitude sharing...i repeat SHARING....i respect all of you and specially androcell that i was a little bit non ethic with him........but my message its if you dont like something dont waste so much time on it TRANS(CE)FORM !!!!!!!!!!otherwise you will seem like that old people claiming for jesus death and for barrabas freedom....claro intelecto! |

M8,
sarcasm was meant on my side, not your.
Anyhow,
I think you should try to understand what people write before rumbling down such a long nosense.
I personally dont care if people download or copy copyrighted music.
I have a problem if people use copyrighted music charging for that.
About me (if you really want to know) I guess im lucky.I recieve lots of free music from artists and I buy the one I dont get free. And I started buying software the day I started earning money using it.
So where we were at?

Sheesh. I did a Google search for FrancoFunghi after hearing part of a mix on hbr1.com. I really liked what I heard. To anyone that happens to be an artist on one of his mixes, THANK YOU for taking the time to create such works. Great stuff. Music like that is the only drug I'll ever need. I listen to it while riding my handbike across the desert here in New Mexico. There's nothing else like it. I'd also like to thank FrancoFunghi for putting it together. Without his mixes, I can guarantee that I would've lived the rest of my life without hearing those songs.
That said, I can't believe that I read all those posts with people berating one another. Everyone wants to be/should be compensated for the work they do. Granted, $25 might be a little much for a mix. However, I don't see a need to argue and insult others over the whole idea. My suggestion is this. TAKE A LOOK AT THE WORLD AROUND YOU. There are more important things to get worked up about. There are countless artists out there that will never get paid for their work. Some will spend valuable time bitching about it. Others will continue to do what they love. Regardless of the medium, most artists are "starving."
Here's a question. Do you think FrancoFunghi makes more money on his mixes than the artists do in their careers? I doubt it.
Bottom line. Enriching the lives of other people is a job that almost NEVER pays well. Only in very rare instances. To me, EVERYONE that is involved in making these kinds of mixes is a hero. Whether it's the artists themselves or the DJ putting it all together. I could never do either. I truly appreciate those that do. I wish they could say that about one another. |

I hope that some of the posters on this thread read this despite it being somewhat late. (Funny coincidence, ions82 found this thread the same way as I did at almost the same date and has the same sentiments!)
Your complaints about francofungi are undoubtably legally correct, but I don't think you should be upset or angry or een ask him to stop because it is still to your potential benefit if he uses your work.
I am speaking as one who knew nothing about this whole genre except that it is the music I have craved for years, wondering why no one did stuff like what I imagined. OK I was ignorant, but you don't hear it on the car radio do you?
So I stumbled on HBR1 via iTunes Radio and was blown away by what I heard. Everytime I was really impressed by something and checked it out, it was a francofungi mix. I bought some from him and it is money well spent, IMO, and payment he deserved.
What's in it for the artists whose tracks are used? Now I've heard of you and I will be collecting your music.
Thanks to all involved, original artists, DJ's and internet radio stations. |

i can very well understand the frustration from artists surrounding this particular case. very few artists in our genre compose music because they want to make money. its purely about passion and the desire to reflect true beauty in the shape of sounds and music.
however, i still feel it is an artists RIGHT to know when his/her music is used in a commercial project. surely we all appreciate it when a DJ plays our music in a live set or in a radioshow, and we do not demand anything for it. but obviously frustration sets when we are made aware of other people making money off of our prodctions.
ALWAYS ask for permission, and make sure the artist is properly credited. this is pretty basic logic i think, and should not even be a topic of discussion.
sincerely,
.x

yes, came with track listings.
xeres - I can't disagree with what you say. This is one of those things where I understand both sides. Ideally there would be permission and direct compensation but this is surely not always practically possible, even if an artist would have no objection at all.
I have no personal insight as to how this all fits in to the DJ/goa-trance community etiquette. |

May I know why this is not always practically possible?
I personally think it is an excuse.
I just put togheter a compi. It is on sale in 2 weeks.I paid every single artist. It took me about 9 month to contact them, ask permission, prepare the contracts send the contract ,check everything is ok.
It took lots of energies and MONEY.
Each artist own their own music and it is madatory to be asked for anything related to their songs.
Only dumbs are not hearing this.

Not that it's any of my business, but after doing a google-search and comming up with one tracklist from a FrancoFunghi set I just couldn't resist... I have no idea if this is representative for what he normally does, but annyways...this is the tracklist I found:

03. Bliss - Dunia
04. Grassskirt - Poor Child
05. Solar Fields - Confusion Illusion
06. Solar Fields - Elevator Sunshine Girl
07. Solar Fields - Cosmic Dessert
08. Solar Fields - Magic Eye
09. Solar Fields - Infection 268-7
10. Solar Fields - Magnetic Air
11. Solar Fields - Majestic Feeling
12. Solar Fields - Blue Moon Station
13. Solar Fields - Planet Zoo
14. Solar Fields - Third Time
15. Solar Fields - Swimming With Stones
16. Pete Namlook - Light
17. Pete Namlook - Je Suis Triste Et Seule Ici
18. Pete Namlook & redruM - Mordor
19. Pete Namlook & DJ Criss - Identification
20. Pete Namlook & Dr. Atmo - Trip To Polaris
21. Pete Namlook & Pascal F.E.O.S. - 70's Beauty
22. Pete Namlook & Pascal F.E.O.S. - Subconscious Mind
23. Pete Namlook - Duane Sky
24. Pete Namlook & DJ Hubee - Live At XS1
25. Pete Namlook & Dr. Atmo - Sweet Angels
26. Pete Namlook - Yugoslavia
27. Biosphere & Higher Intelligence Agency - Countdown To Darkness
28. Biosphere & Higher Intelligence Agency - Corona
Now compare this with the tracklist on the following album: http://www.discogs.com/release/135286
Great "trackselection" you've got there, mate.. As I said, I have no idea if this represents what the guy normally does or what he sells in his mixes. But if it does.. just buy the original cd instead
