I can't believe there aren't any threads about this guy! I hear his sets all the time on HBR1 and they are most definately trancendental....full psychedelic experiences in music form. I reeaaallly want to buy all of his mixes but theres a bunch of them and they're all $25! ( http://francofunghi.es/ ) I'm too broke for that, unfortunately, so i'll keep hoping to hear him on the radio |

I pay 1 USD to the SGAE for each played and recorded song.
I had buyed equipment in the worth of 3000 USD to make music (CD,mixer, effects etc.)!
and there are a lot of ppl. worldwide they´re happy to get a high quality copy of my longplay mixes!
thanks to all bookers, buyers and other supporters without their help francofunghi can´t exist!

Koalakube has posed some serious questions that deserve answering, FrancoFunghi. So you buy your music, that's great to hear, and I applaud you for being among the few consumers these days who is still buying the original CD. But the fact that you bought DJ equipment to make mixes which you are "selling" is irrelevent to this discussion, and has really NOTHING to do with SUPPORTING ARTISTS WORK. What IS relevent is that most DJ's who are using artist's music to make mixes ARE NOT selling the mixes, but instead using them as a promotional reference for their skills. You have to LICENSE the music if you plan to sell them, especially when you are charging the exorbitant price of $25, which is more than an actual artist CD. So heres MY question. WHY when I visit your website can't I find a TRACKLISTING of the mixes????? Am I overlooking them somewhere? I need to know if my music is involved in your SCHEME. I have another question. Are these real, pressed, manufactured CD's or some flimsy CD-R you're burning out of your home?
Awaiting your answers.

Good point Quasga, first who would buy a mixed cd 25 beans, with no tracklist?? I checked out for some names or titles but really all i could find on his site is this Quote:
| 5500 Goa/Psytrance, Ambient CDs from 1992 - 2005 |
| and i doubt some of these artists has been paid or going to be paid for his releases, explanations would be appreciated indeed. It`s like samples in music production, you can`t just profit from it like that.. like the french expression ; il y a anguille sous roche.

hello,
nice to see,how many users participate to this discussion....
my statement to answer your questions:
ok, not for all my mixes are existing playlists.when i spin live i have no time to write a playlist.
my mixes or every DJ mix is a own artistic work and why i should not sell the mixes, when the people want get a copy of it??
the ppl.are paying entry fees for listen to my music!! i´m gonna to be paid to make music, i´m not only a DJ i´m a artist like any other DJ and having a symbiosis with the producer of the tracks!!
my CDs are real professional produced CDs with jewelcase, cover and last not least playlist in high quality. the costs for each CD in the production are 10,50 USD 5 USD i donate to preda, a children rescue project at the phillipines, http://www.preda.org
my mixes having a average playtime from 3,5 up to 4,5hrs with +/- 40 titles.
i pay a fee for a license to the SGAE
http://www.sgae.es/tipology/est/item/en/568_863.html
and they´re paying the artists, i think so!
FrancoFunghi
btw: i forget that i producing own tracks too.

I speak ONLY for myself. If you are playing ANY music by Androcell, and selling a mix containing any of my music, then you are in violation of Celestial Dragon's exclusive rights to my music, which THEY have PAID for, and you would owe us money, because as far as I know, we're not involved with the SGAE who obviously isn't paying me a dime. I hold ALL the copyright to my music. And this would mean that you DO NOT have a symbiosis with the producer (e.g. - me). This is how some of us make our living.
So please let me know if you've ever used any of my music in your mixes. Can anyone else claim they've heard any of my music in a FrancoFunghi mix??
If you're paying $10.50 per CD manufactured, you are getting robbed.

interesting discussion here,
I've often wondered about the inner workings of music distribution/licensing etc, but don't have anything to add on this topic.
From the human angle, it seems francofunghi has his heart in the right place, but maybe just needs better education how it all works on the licensing end of it.
And then someone hook em up with a better cd manufacturer so he can get his costs down (ouch) IMO, the more people getting the message the better, but not at such profit for some and loss for others...

FrancoFungi, you digging your own hole here.
You must ask permission to the artists to use their track on a cd you sell.
Dont fool us around here. You dont ask the permission, neither you pay money.
Just to give you an example,2000$-4000$ is the total a rec label would pay in ADVANCE to the artists to feature their tunes in the cd.
CAn you please pubblish the tracklist of your mixes?Im sure many rec label and artists would be happy to kick your punk ass with extreme pleasure.
