IDE drives can have 2 devices per chanel, one master & one secondary (also called slave).

SATA drives only have 1 device per channel. I have noticed that many of the SATA drives still come with the jumpers, so yeah, I suppose it might not work right if the drive is not jumpered to (single)Master.

Good into to know, thanx for sharing the solution.           Keep The Faith,

i think i read somewhere in the net that SATA hd dont need a jumper, thats why it seemed weird to me and it took me so long to find out
actually the real solution came just one hour ago(after 3 days of searching, restarts and goddamn blue screens

the windows in SATA were not stable, and also my pc couldnt recognise my soundcard)
so i took a big backup from my ATAPI hard disk which was used as a storage and installed the windows into it.after that,my sound card worked well and the SATA was recognised at once(eventhough there were also windows in it,when i plugged it worked as a slave drive and i just erased the pr0gram files)           Signature:
