I dont want to argue with nobody but when i saw the link and the word discuss.. i remembered my teachers who used to speak better..anyway..
Acc+ in action really rocks.
U can have the same quality in the half bandwith.
www.bassline.gr uses this format and saved the half of its upstream this way.
In general i dont really see any reason to use these formats for studio use.
All loose dynamics even if "its not hearble",of course it is.
Generally i think that mp3,wma,acc+ its just for pirated music and broadcasting use, nothing more, nothing less |

I think they don't know what they are listening for... If you want to hear the difference, concentrate on the hihats (and other high freq sounds) and subbass. The bass becomes tighter when compressed, the hihats (and other high freq sounds) start to flutter (with heavy compression it's as if someone put a phaser on the hihats, everybody has heard this already...). I have to admit that it is very hard to hear the diference between mp3 320kbps and wav. I only hear it with my sennheiser HD25's.... Because the bass sounds tighter and because compression drops all the almost unhearable stuff in the track, it can sound a little better sometimes strangely enough... |
