Formant Synthesis - Delay Lama. I think someone explained already how it works - use search.

About waveshaping - well, it's shaping your waveform. In absynth waveshaping is not really waveshaping - it's additive synthesis. Z3ta+ can change your basic waveform by changing various aspects of the wave. I think you should listen for yourself to see it.
