Greetings!

I want to know how i can make specific sounds...for example these sounds contains in many tracks of Infected Mushroom
...also Psysex, Pop Stream some tracks..
it sounds like talking TeeBee 303 =)

i know how make it with special formant filters..i use for this Antares multimode filter. Interested how can create similar sounds on Nord Lead 2 synth, best ways?... I just want to know all possible methods for creation wide range of these sounds.

Any ideas?

303 sound is not created with a formant filter.
Formant filters are for "talking" sounds. 303 are made with high resonance, low pass filters and distortion.

I had a Yamaha FS1R once, but got really tired of it and sold it. (Hate rack-synt's with small displays)

But it had some cool features, among them formant synthesis.

Read more about it here:

This synth never got very popular, so I bet you can score one real cheap.

Electro, do you mean the sounds like in the sample I posted in this thread? http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/42161/forum/2

If you do, the answer is simple: osc sync and the mod wheel. I don't know the Nord Lead, but I got a nice sound with Z3ta using the following method:

Take Osc2 and sync it to Osc 1, with Osc 2 being 2 octaves higher than Osc 1 (I pitched Osc1 as low as it would go). Ideally Osc 2 should contain some noise. Turn the vol of osc 1 all the way to 0, so that we're listening only to Osc 2. Put a 24db bandpass filter on Osc 2 and put it around 30%. Now play some notes while giving the mod wheel a spin and you should hear those wonderful growls and squaks.

Summary: Osc 2 synced to Osc1 and 2 octaves higher:

Osc1 (saw waveforms sound good) -> Osc2 (noise sounds good) -> 24db Bpass filter

Hope that helps.

most of these formant sounds are propably made with the nord modular.,

it has an excelent formant filter and it is very recognisable.,

also, it's very controlable.,

and furthermore, clavia is a swedish company so they have implemented some unusual vowels ., they get you those weird scandinavian/german vowels like in the word 'Jawohl!' ., you know them, the ones that sound like someone is realy sick

you might want to look for a secondhand micro-modular., they dont have audio-in but you can make great (formant) sounds with it .,

fuzzy,

i came very close to that sound with synced (noise) oscs and the formant filter on the nord modular.,

it's propably made with one of those.,

it can account for both the formant sound and the synced noise sound you hear .,

i havent seen a synth that does both these things and sounds similar to what you originaly posted.,

my 2 cents

The folks on PatchArena suggested an Arp Odyssey to get that particular sound (http://www.patcharena.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=4510#4510), but without one to play with I have no first hand experience.

Really what I was looking for was that 'talking' aspect that is so common on leads - and the answer was the mod wheel.
Plus with Z3ta I can osc sync to my hearts desire (blows my mind, osc1->osc2->osc3->etc - wow).

Anyways, I recommend that forum - the people there seem to *really* know their synthesis.

Can you do osc sync with albino? So far the only softsynths I know that can do this are Z3ta, V-station, and Discovery.

That's actually a good question - what are the other softsynths that can do osc sync?

Jawohl Kommadant... is that a real synth? (I googled it... no luck)

and you know what the stupid thing is?.,
osc sync is realy realy easy to implement in software.,

i dont understand why so few companies have done it.,

anyway.,
