FabFilter proQ is a great EQ with M/S possibilities.
I dont like the EQ8 from Live very much...its not really neutral sound wise and if you use it on many/every channel then it can get a bit muddy....
  My first track:

Being an ableton M/S user this is godsend for me because I do belive it muds when over used, but I seem to want every component of my track to have some M/S adjustments

I prefer Fabfilter Pro Q to EQ8 myself, but there are many pros who use EQ8 and they don't get a muddy sound.
I just did a test where I set Pro Q and EQ8 to the same frequency and gain, and flipped back and forth between them. Can't tell the difference.
The main difference between EQ8 and Pro Q for me is the workflow, not the sound. I love scrolling the mousewheel to adjust the Q, I love seeing the spectrum overlaid on the EQ, I love the 'hear what you cut' mode...but as for the EQ muddying up the sound?
Nah. At least, its not as big of a deal as people make it out to be. My 2 cents.
