This link will take you to a site with a inofficial driver for the souncards that uses the EMU10K1 and EMU10K2 dsp processor.

There are s##¤"loads of settings for the card and ASIO drivers...

awesome drivers, pity the sample rate is locked at 48 kHz.....
all the hacked SB drivers seem to be that way
44.1 is so much more 'universal'!

yup...but im going to try these drivers and if i understand i properly then you can use your rear speaker output to be a separate output.

leaving you with a effect proscessor and a sample player...each with a individual stereo output...           For the TT beliver: www.techtrance.2tunes.com

I believe you could do it with the older, it was possible but i never succeded.
I wirk with these drivers for some time, and i have 8ms latency prox. which is really cool.
About 48Khz, what's the problemm? You can downsample the final track easily. All the software today supports 44.1 and 48@16 and most of them support also 64 and 96@24. If you wanna master the track for CD you downsample it anyways to 44.1@16 in the end, so what's the problemm?
BTW i have trouble with realtime effects on mic input. Something that i had no problemm with the native drivers.
And one more thing, the interface is horrible. Much worse then Creative awesome interface. But if it's the price that i am willing to pay for the latency then shall be it.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

ohh...so it's possible to have the line out and rear speaker out as two separate outputs.

So if i want to run soundfonts thru the rear speakers as separate outputs not affected by the effects i want to run the line out??

any way im gonna give them a try and see if they cut the mustard...           For the TT beliver: www.techtrance.2tunes.com

Dopamin, there is a users forum on the site, so just check with them if u run into any difficulties

Space Ninja, the problem is, ive spent the last 3 years building up one hell of a sample library, all in 44.1 kHz
theoretically i can just whack em in the EXS24, or whatever sampler, and use them like that no worries, but i prefer to work with both midi and audio.
i dont particularly want to go through and 'up-sample' everything.
like i said before, 44.1 is just so much more 'universal'
u import a .wav of a cd, 10 times out of 10 its going to be @ 44.1

I didn't notice any problemm with 44.1 samples.
Not in Cubase nor Fruity.
Are you sure that the problemm is with the drivers?           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

if a 44.1 sample is played back in a program that can only run @ 48kHz; Logic, Cubase, Wavelab whatever, the sample will playback at the wrong speed
(because these drivers are locked @ 48, the programs will only run at this sample rate, you cannot change it within a program, cuz the drivers wont support it)

The kx drivers are a well known old issue.
and still they are too experimental for serious work.
the native creative drivers give u better results and more stability.

its not a commercial firm so they don't mean to improve their drivers much in the near time, as i see.

any way its better to buy a more music oriented sound card than stucking with sb, downloading kx and waiting for updates.

sb is a soundcard that is more for games and dvd than creating music
the only music elemnt that it has is the soundfont that is from e-mu.
i wonder why creative bought e-mu..

three years ago i had an ess 1448 sound card that was aweful but according to my requerments for those times it was ok.
than later i bought sb live and my next step will be delta or digi96           ***dread controls***

and btw

i see no point using 24/96 while u record 16/44
on a cd.

i hope when dvds will be more affordble media we can record and and buy more quality and high resilution sound recordings[not mentioning the length of the recording]

well i tried the drivers and i couldent get to work very well so i will just install the original drivers instead.

Well i only use the SB as an effect unit..cause you can do some nice things with the effects on the card.

i use the LUNA II card for my serious editing and recording.

and as i see it there is no use going all the way up to 48khz for samples the only thing one would notice, would be taht it eats up the memory space.

anyhow...thanx for your replyes dudes and thanx for the good coments reece
