or make file as private and add people who can hear it by e-mail or from list of your followers           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450

I will not say if its stupid or not, but some labels do not like the advent of soundcloud as a lot of poeple get to hear a lot of music on there nowdays...they want to keep some music well out of reach of anyone besides the creator and the label people until it is released.

...and besides, its good to keep some tunes only for your sets, until they get released.

As a newcomer tho, I would say the more music you post, the better. Its good to keep a consistent output. People can see you are serious about music making.

Peace out.

Thanks Ive been wondering this. I think its best to keep files private until you reach a label too. Do things the right way.

I agree, but maintain a certain level of quality with what you release.

I think that if someone is so stupid to rip 128kb mp3 tracks and play them in a DJ set he is just mudding his "artist" name, that quality is not live playable AT ALL. Thats why listeners should know more about quality sound so they´ll notice and throw hard objects to the pseudo-artist. In the other side, if I ever find someone uses my tracks to say theyre his/hers, we have a real problem then.           ProtoDrive https://soundcloud.com/protodrive

OT: hmmm how many people can hear difference between 128 and 320kbps mp3 on club soundsystem? 1,2 or maybe 5 people on party?
at very loud partys you can hear 70% of distorted harmonics generated by walls and maybe 20-30% of clean sound. and that if dj dont rise gain ahead red diodes. at the present time i cant stand at a party without ear plugs, because the music is playing so loud that everything is unplayable :/           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450
