i do it very easely with TC Works' plugs...
just insert the SideChainer plug in the kick track, then insert in the bass track the Compressor with the Key Input turned on, ajust to taste the attack, relase, thresh and ratio....
voila!

Its weird when i put the tc compressor on the bass track i can't turn the key input on..Does it have to be in midi or does it work on audio channels as well?

s-cube, dont forget to put the SideChainer plug-in on the *kick track* before pressing the Key Input of the Compressor!!!

its also a good trick for gating pads into rythmic parts.
just put the sidechainer plug on a percussion part you did, bring the track volume down, and then use the TC cmpressor with the keyinput and tweakings...
