funny that this thread is here, because I 've been reading and thinking quite a bit lately about Trickster's archetype.. A fool would be one of the versions of the trickster.. He is reocurrent on all sorts of different cultures, stories, fables and myths...
Some people do get to incorporate this archetype in themselves more than others, but, as myths are also mirrors for psychic dramas and processes, it seems most of us face the Trickster (or fool) in ourselves at different points of our lives... It is there as the Opposite, the always present contradicting force inside ourselves, the internal impulse to break laws and act unexpectedly, to free ourselves from confinement and predictability
The trickster is a very important stage for us to realize that the opposite of our controlled mind is just as necessary, the chaos has its value, and the more we repress it, the stronger the fool will be when he comes out.. Its like a baloon full of air.. squeeze it in one part, it comes out in another..
