for all the artists out there i was thinking...i have a two condencer mics,
and a lot of the sounds in psychedelic trance have sounds of real life sounds like a sport boot rubing against athe floor electric tools such as chain saws etc...
well the sounds you can synthesis with synths
is realy more interesting and more...ooompha!
but yet...what do you think about recording part of the sounds, i dont mean vocals i mean
taking a spring a nd bouncing it, and record that, or take a ruler place it aginst the table whyle half is hanging in the air flick
it and pool backwards and record that sort of a perrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttt soun
anyway what is your opinion of puting these
folly sounds into psychedelic trance? |

Man, thats the thing iv been craving to do for years now....
but i havent got a solution yet.
If i should buy a new soundcard with more ins and outs and phatom power or just buy a mixer and a mic...
if i would have mic i would sample the shit out of this earth!! lots of things that havent made a sound together yet, hehe
anyway i think you should put any sound your twisted freaking mind can come up with in psytrance!
nice to read some of your ideas! keep tweaking

ive made recordins of water and doors and anything with a bit of volume with a minidisk and an 15euro electrodynamic mic end worked very cool with lots of fx or no fx at all it works great in psy but it has to be as clean as possible
no bondaries in psy man do anything and dont need of expensive mics(could do better though with one)only imaginasion and a minidisk or a laptop

cool to read people are with me on this one...i think today you have good condencer mics for quite cheap...for example the maudio mics, samsons and a small behringer
mixer should do the trick...

for years now i've been meaning to go to the junkyard with some drumsticks & mallets & whatever and start banging on some steel. kinda forgot about it until now...
i'll second the mic & minidisk as well. for a decent cheap powered mic check out the sony ecm-t6. |

any tips on cutting out background noise such as cars driving by? (without buying an expensive mic with the noise cutting foam stuff.) |

1ST try record clean take without noises but the way to do it is with noise gate. it cuts whatever below the treshold you set.
2nd solution is with WAVES`s X-noise.

There are a lot of restoration plug-ins that will eliminate alomost any static noise. You can record just the background noise and feed it to the plug-in as a noise profile, then apply the noise reduction to whatever you were trying to record.
The easiest one I know of is SoundSoap.
