Folded View (CreamCrop, Feb. 2001)
1. Process- Romboullion Plane 6:26
2. Yumade- Onion Sex 7'37
3. Paps & Droidlock- Just A Game 7'21
4. Algorithmic Disorder- Algorhythms 6'43
5. Paps- The Real Life 8'18
6. Magus- Digital Silence (Yumade rmx) 7'31
7. Magus vs. Pied Piper Paul- Imploded Brains (rmx) 8'20
8. Huxflux- Bring Your Own Bios 8:46
9. Tegma- Doppelganger 8:50

A second compilation from CreamCrop, and it seems they're getting better. I was not too in love with Liquid Levels, but this is a very good compilation, more diverse and interesting. Process starts with a tune for dawn, and a weird one- sometimes I like it, sometimes not- which is interesting in itself. Yumade follow with a groovy piece, Yumade style, and then it flows (the whole compilation does that basically) to Paps & Droidlock with one of my favorites here- great rhythms that keep evolving and great hypnotic use of samples. This track seems to occupy more time than the 7 minutes it's suppose to- I like it when music distorts objective time. Algorithmic Disorder with another groovy track with changing and interlooping rhythms and percussion- nice. Paps does his thing alone next with one of his favorites with me. The Yumade remix to Magus' Digital Silence, I like less than the original. But Magus teaming with P.P.Paul rocks- more great use of samples. Hux Flux with a full on computerized madness- I know it works in a party- but it gives me a headache at home usually. The best track here is the closing one- Tegma's track is nothing too sophisticated, but powerful sounds and perfect build- one of these tracks, that whenever played at a party will make all people sitting down, go dance- and that's the point of dance music isn't it? Good to be reminded of that.

Bottom Line: Definitely worth having. Favorites: 2, 3(!), 4, 5, 7, 9(!).

Boy this was such a good period with a lot of quality releases, a lot of experimentation done under minimalism, now it seems like we are on the hurry all the time. Thanks for the reminder, will dig this up and give it another listen
